Today I learned about surface tension
First time making a Passover recipe from my Grandmom.
You have to boil water and Crisco together.
So I popped it in the microwave for ~4 minutes.
Looked at it toward the end and it didn't look like it was doing much.
Took the bowl out of the microwave and gave the mixture a stir.
It looked like a volcano erupting. Luckily my cat-like reflexes enabled me to jump out of the way with only minimal 2nd degree burns.
Guess we won't be doing that again.

Patries?
Are you sure you weren't suppose to boil the water and then pour it over the crisco? Because it doesn't take much to melt shortening... Lol
