ricecooker advice?

Anyone able to recommend a nice rice cooker which has the congee function? Looking to spend under $200.

Thanks

get any rice cooker with the elephant on it (zojiroshi brand) as for congee, it's just a matter of more water to rice ratio.

Zojirushi is awesome. If you want to make congee, there's an option for that in the model that I have. I have the rice maker and the hot water dispenser ^^.

$30 rice cooker from Costco. Yes, the bottom does tend to brown the bottom if you don't turn it off soon after it finishes, but rice is still pretty cheap and we don't need rice ready to eat 24/7.

Yeap, there's a $45 one from Sanyo that works better than the one's that cost three to four times as much, unless you have to have a delayed timer. Then the $70 Sanyo will work.

OP is looking for rice cooker with congee/porridge function.

Many other brands also have this function as well.

Idk. I'm . I my zoji. My parents bought one 8-10 years ago and it's still going strong - makes perfect rice....all the time.

Slightly OT, but what kind of rice do you guys eat?

I grew up on sticky rice, but now mainly eat basmati. The problem is every time we get the rice from Costco, it seems it's a different brand and it takes a couple of batches to get the water ratio down. :thumbsdow
