Sure. But, at least you don't see me get into a huff like Apple worshipers...Go ahead. I know Sony is not perfect.
You'd think I insulted a product they made when I point out Apple's deficiencies to their fans...
Now...be real careful about which robots you insult.

Personally, I'm interested in this new PSP. The screen alone sounds very enticing...I'm guessing UMD media dies with the first PSP...?

Well i just get the impression that you hate apple just because it's apple and the crowds follow it. And that youre the type to hate on something because it's popular.

It's more the demographics and behavior of the owners...Sure, there are nice people who own Apple. But, for the most part, most I know who own an iPhone, iMac, etc. etc. think they own a billion dollar product and everything else am the suck.
BMW owners fall into this too...and I know it's a good car. There are exceptions of course...
J. Lindeberg too. Funny thing is, usually are the peeps who own all three brands.
So, on principle, I'll never own any of them.

Okay, the new 5-series...Yeah...maybe.
But, most of the nimrods I can't stand are in 3-series and well, a 5er would trump their cars anyhow.

@ UMD......poor suckers that bought all those movies.
$300 for this is crazy expensive....sure it may be powerful and do all sorts of things...but for portable gaming $300 is steep.....if it hits $350....oh boy.
Sony is going to find that there is little money to be found for a dedicated portable gaming device that is priced north of $300.

Can the current psp connect to the ps store and download movies and stuff digitally?
I never bought into the UMD thing. Why would I spend almost 20bux for a UMD that can only be used on the psp.
I'm the case of the ps store I think it can be used on the PSP and PS3. also like iTunes movies. Can be used on iPhone iPad iPod apple tv and computer.

There's a problem with the new slims with 16mb of flash memory that if you have an upgraded hard drive that's not original it will become corrupt when you update it to 5.56 os.
Why?
The fat and older slims have about 256mb of flash, so most of the os is on the flash.
The slims keep more on the os on the hard drive, and with a bigger hard drive, it gets confused and messes up the hard drive... (has to do with the file systems file table).

The sizzle in the Steak
See you in 2012?
http://www.pcworld.com/article/22427...miss_2011.html
The planned global launch of Sony's next-gen PlayStation Portable late this year may be in serious trouble, to hear Sony Computer Entertainment of America president Jack Tretton tell it.
Speaking to Bloomberg, Tretton said the PSP's unnamed successor (codenamed NGP for 'Next Generation Portable') might arrive in just one region this year instead of Asia, Europe, and the U.S. simultaneously. Why? Because of supply chain disruptions caused by the March 11 Japanese earthquake and tsunami.
"It may be the straw that says ‘maybe we get to just one market by the end of the year'," said Tretton, adding that staggering the handheld's introduction "may give game developers in certain regions more time to complete their software."
In the event "maybe" becomes "probably," Tretton won't say which region would get the device first.
None of that bodes well for Sony. Nintendo's 3DS debuted globally between February and March to record sales (see our review of the hardware and eight launch games). Sony's PSP successor was already set to play the back half of the year, but a multi-region holiday delay could drive fence-sitters to snap up Nintendo's handheld in lieu of waiting for Sony's

Early this year, Paul Miller and I hopped a flight to Tokyo to see Sony executive Kaz Hirai reveal the new PSP, codenamed NGP (for “Next Generation Portable,” of course). At that point it was said to be coming this holiday season, making E3 2011 the obvious choice to divulge more details. Top on that list? An actual name. This week, Games Pundit and Mega Rock (via Joystiq) posted the above image, purportedly from an E3 proof sheet — and written clearly on the top left, below the screen, and even in its reflection is the name PS Vita.
Corroborating that leak, it seems the developer network subdomain vita.scedev.net is up and redirects to a main portal. The link also works if you substitute vita for “ngp.,” “ps3.,” and the like — but not for random words like “move.,” “wii.,” or “rosswantslastguardian.” It seems clear to me Sony is at least heavily considering Vita as the official name, and coupled with the leaked images, I’d be more surprised if the final name wasn’t Vita.
As far as price is concerned, Sony’s CFO Masaru Kato recently told The Wall Street Journal that it plans to forego building its own semiconductor factory and seek alternate methods, such as outsourcing to chip foundries, to “ease capital expenditures” — which may or may not translate to a lower price tag for the consumer.
