I just got the CTDP F1 2005 mod for rFactor and decided to snag some graphical goodness.
These are from gameplay. The only editing done was to crop off the instant replay control bar. The tracks are from the base rFactor game and are pretty decent looking. The modeling and texturing of the F1 cars in this new mod, however, are simply stunning.

I've only driven about a dozen laps so far so I don't think I can really give an informed opinion yet. That said, here are some observations:
------------------
The cars really stick well but you have to be deliberate and smooth with all your inputs. Jerk or mash anything and you're going to end up facing the wrong direction.
You have to be very careful with the throttle at low speed. Power on tap can seems to easily blow the rears off. Was traction control allowed in 2005? If so, maybe I need to turn it on somewhere.
I'm havnig a hard time applying anything more than roughly 50-60% braking when slowing from 3rd gear or less. I'm pretty sure this is simply due to the fact that you don't have the downforce at those lower speeds but it may also be the brake balance of the default setups. When braking from higher speeds you most definitely have to reduce pressure on the brake pedal as you slow otherwise the wheels lock. In an F1 car though, "...as you slow" is a teeny tiny amount of time.
You must "drive down the road" adequately. I don't just mean looking down the road sufficiently either. I mean completely driving the car ahead of where you are. These cars are capable of going through the turns so fast that you simply can not provide inputs as you come upon the turns. You can get away with that on corners that are by themselves with a straight on either side. For most series of contiguous corners though, the car can go through it so fast that you're reaction times simply can't keep up if you try to take them as they come.
------------------
So as you can probably guess from the comments, so far I think it's pretty difficult. As you may have also guessed, I think it's pretty damn realistic!
I haven't bothered to turn on the framerate counter yet. It hasn't been super fast by any means but I also haven't encountered any significant slowdowns. Overall, it defnitely runs "fast enough" at 1024x768 with 4X AA on my rig (3500+, 1GB RAM, 256MB 7800GT).
BTW - You must purchase the base rFactor game to run this, but this F1 mod itself is FREE software folks.

A couple more. I think the second one of this bunch is my favorite of the lot.

BTW - I have shadow detail turned down to get back some frame rate. Hence the jaggies on them.
