I love it.

However, if you already own the Xbox game, getting Sigma may not make you completely happy unless you're a hardcore nut for the game; I say this as Sigma is just a dolled up version of the original with some perks (i.e. playability with Rachel)...

That being said, if you have not played the original, then this game is a must-buy. And from that standpoint, it is also IMO the best PS3 game out there right now. The graphics are superb and the controls are fantastic.

Mind you, I am rather selective of my PS3 titles as this is just my 4th game (I own Resistance, Formula 1, and Virtua Tennis).

I would have to agree with everyone here. NG is one of the best games out for PS3 right now. I had it for the xbox beat it on hard, and still went out and got this. I can see some differnces with level design. I found it kind of fun looking and saying wait that wasent there before. I also picked up rainbow six, good game as well.

Okay...is it just me or is Alma HARDER in Sigma than on the Xbox original...?

 

never played the original, but alma is def a pretty well rendered whore of a boss...the double swords are teh hotness...but so far my fave weapon is the staff...

 

Actually, I enjoy almost all the weapons in the game. But, wait until you get the bladed-nunchucks (forgot their name).

 

Not only Alma, but the two times you fight Doku as well. I think they changed their defensive schemes so flying sparrow (or equivalent jumping slash attack on the other weapons) doesn't work anymore. A lot of this happened with the Hurricane Pack updates.

Vigoorian Flails FTW! Best weapon in the game (even against bosses, IMO) except for the bigger peons. There is no other combo as satisfying as the "Cremator".

Gameplay-wise...supposedly none. The Collector's set just includes a commentary video by the designer. And some sekrit hint.

Well, if you're looking for some cheat to go through the game easier, I don't think there is one (hence again my reiteration that this game is a rite of manhood and machoness)...

I suppose, if you die enough, the game downgrades you to Ninja Dog, right? Or has that been taken outta Sigma...?

 

no, they definitely give you the option to be a dog if you die incessantly...i like the macho asian man i am, opted to stay at my superior ninja level...hence why I cannot move past this GOD DAMN BOSS FIGHT!!!

 

I admit it takes some luck. As I suggested, try Ninpo to take down some of her health...replenish and Ninpo again.

Once you are out, use the Flying Sparrow as best you can...if she blocks...roll. And remember, keep those health flasks handy. You can do it!

 

LOL. First time i played the xbox version I didn't save before I got to Alma and I only had half a life bar and no flasks or ninpo. I think I counted 75 tries to beat her.

I beat in her in 5 minutes last week :-D

Like I said, hard enough to be an end-boss.
Heck, Murai as a first boss was pretty danged hard for an inexperienced player.

 

Right now the hardest part for me is getting out of the damned lava pit. Every time I fall in the lava I get pissed and turn off the machine.

 

That stage was not fun with the branch-swinging and wall-runs.

 

So, I'm surprised no one has commented yet about Rachel's...um...bounce.

 

hahaha...i thought we'd save that until I got out of that boss battle...i'm in the ritual room now fighting a bunch of bad guys trying to get that secret item...but yes...bounce..gotta love it!

And sometimes, backtracking to an area and triggering a seemingly endless spawn of baddies usually will net you a goodie for your hard work...

 

i notcie that...one thing i like about this game is that the bad guys seem neverending, which for ninjas, seems very appropriate...lol...i need to kill some more..i'm currently trying to master the whole headjumping thing...
