No sir. I honestly have no place I could hook up a PS3 with a wheel and pedal setup. Even if I did, there's no way in hell I'm going to shell out any amount of $'s for a PS3 compatible wheel and pedal set when I already own an ECCI rig.

In the mean while, I'll be anxiously waiting in my own PC-centric holding pattern for rFactor 2.

It's going to be tough getting a wheel and pedal set up as well. Looks like I'll be taking on the game with the trusty ol' Sixaxis.

I would love to drive it in the dark! I've raced it so many times its engrained in my head and I don't need to see any lines

Hmm, those pictures gave me a question: Will there be a clutch pedal/button in GT5?

Clutch kick drifts FTW, not to mention effing up every downshift. I'd love it if they did that.

If it's like GT5 prologue, then yes it has support for clutch.

personally I think we will just be doing regular races and not singular time trials, I mean the only reason we did that is because we couldn't race online. but its funny to look back at all those posts.

Now days, I think the equivalent setup is going to run about $1,600 . I have a pretty deep Ikea desk in my office so I just leave the wheel clamped over toward the end of the desk and move it over in front of the monitor when I drive. I don't even need to move any keyboards since the desk is so deep.

I just use a regular office chair for seating. In fact, the amount of driving I do is what's kept me from getting a good office chair at home. I'm afraid if I spring for an Aeron or the like, it's "correct" posture will end up being uncomfortable for driving.

Hey if we do a time trial thread can we have a winner for users that use the sixxaxis and users with a steering wheel setup? Otherwise you guys with the wheel will win everytime.

I am thinking most of the time we'll just be in big races together -

btw I have tried the G25 (and lesser wheels) before and I run better times with the 6-axis...

personally I don't feel we need to separate controllers. if we were racing for money, maybe. but this is just casually competitive racing, for fun.

Well I'd at least like to have a chance to win.

You don't get the steering, throttle and brake precision in the controller that you get with a wheel and pedals.

probably not everybody can join in at the same time to play online together.
so we can still start a thread for time challenge

You know, I agree they are very different experiences and if it was a serious competition there should be some distinction. But for all intents and purposes here at AZ, I don't think it should matter. Do you really see there being 2 threads, one for steering wheels and one for 6-axis?

fine by me. It is my hope that you can setup private online challenges where we can race and it automatically records the best time. Would make sense eh. I don't see that happening though.

It's not a serious competition but knowing that you don't have a chance of even coming close to winning unless you drop a few bills ($1500+ in Billiams case) on a setup is a little discouraging and I'm sure people with controllers won't want to compete. It'll become an elitest thread where the only ones that participate are the ones with a setup that even have a chance to win. I'd like there to be some friendly competition amongst sixxaxis players too, cause they don't stand a chance otherwise.

Much like the photo contest threads are all by people with DSLRs and expensive lenses and some may use lighting setups. While if I show up with my P+S I don't stand a chance. In fact I did submit a photo in a contest once with my P+S and it didn't even make it to be voted on. Guess who never participated in another photo contest thread?

We don't have to have separate threads. We can run two competitions that start and end at the same time.

eh. we already have at least 2 people in here who do better with the 6-axis, so your argument is null and void.

well then you guys just really suck at the steering wheel.

I played with one once and I was terrible with it but with practice, I know I'd be better.
