Planning to get a iMac, but which model should I get?

As title says I'm thinking of purchasing a iMac. The only reasons behind this is to get really serious on photo editing and the Apply Keynote. In my career field, creating a good presentation is critical and I'm pretty decent with PPT. But now it's time for me to really up my game and master the Keynote..

I've never used any of Apple's products, and this will be my first one.

Money is not really an issue, but I don't want to purchase something that's too good for my use.

I was looking at this: 27-inch: 3.2GHz $1,699. What do you guys think?

If you can wait there will be all-new iMacs coming out in a few weeks from what credible sources say. My wife will be getting one as well.

really not too many models to choose from.

either 21.5 inch or 27 inch. and then processor options.

also do you really need the iMac right now? or could you wait until summer time?

the iMac was last updated in july of 2010, its probably due for an update soon to presumably sandy bridge CPUs.

mostly likely that will bring i7 CPUs across the board, just like the Macbook Pros.
those have 4 cores and 8 threads total due to hyper threading

of course, the pricing almost always stays the same, or if you're lucky it will get cheaper.
