lol after about 10 laps and the third lap being my best i started drifting with it, pulling up on the e-brake, hahah so fun. but the sonofabitch doesn't like to turn. piss me off. key is with this car is to goin hot slam on the brakes and turn like hell until it points and then hard on the gas.

Yeah...after I played it, I was thinking if I made the wrong choice. It was a handful especially in Laguna Seca. I don't remember the exact lap time I got down to, but I think it was something in the 1'37 range. I just haven't uploaded the screenshot.

holy shit. there must be someone that REALLY HATES Mercedes and AMG over at Polyphony. Cuz this car sucks major ass - and I can't picture it being THIS bad in real life. I just can't. Holy shit I was not prepared for how bunk ass the handling would be. This is the worst car I have ever played in any GT series. Even the Vitz is better, at least that thing is so godamn slow that you dont really have to fight it. But this... THIS....... god - this is just atrocious. Good lord..... WTF. The M5 walks all over this car in GT4....... damn. I managed a 1'39.921 after about 7 laps of trying and then I just got too fed up and had to stop.
vwong. please seek some kind of mental help. 1'36 in this car at Laguna..... I can't even begin to imagine how you did it. please seek help, because, you're crazy.

First you have to start off with a very nice right hander at the T11 of the previous lap to give you that extra speed on the front straight. At T2, brake hard and stay wide at the entry. Be very patient with the throttle at this turn. I think I was coasting at the first half of the turn, then full throttle as the car was point the "right" direction. Late apex it.
T6 was kind of difficult. If you slow down a bit too much, you'll loose speed going uphill. If you don't slow down enough, you'll end up in the dirt.
For the corkscrew, I braked just before the elevation change before the corkscrew, and tried to steer the car toward right to give myself a bigger turning radius for the corkscrew. Be very careful on the throttle during the "drop". Too much gas equals potential spinning.
At the final T11, just brake very hard. This is probably the slowest corner of the track. Don't over push this corner because you'll just end up going into the dirt and losing a lot of time. Use the rub strip/curb to give you more room. BTW, are you guys using the rub strips/curbs? I used a lot of them in the game.
Oh...did I mention that Laguna Seca is one of my favorite tracks? And I played a lot (and I really mean a lot) on the track. I'm hoping that one day in the next couple of years, I can actually drive my car on this track (the real life Laguna Seca).
Sorry for the novel. Hope this helps you guys out. Oh...and sorry about the MB. I found it difficult too but it was too late to change.

^^^ damn thanks, wasn't expecting such a detailed analysis
I see what you mean about the Andretti Hairpin... I think that technique would help a lot. but damn this car ain't pretty to drive.

Oh not all TVR's are bad. I picked up a Tuscan Speed 6 and it wasn't that bad. I was hanging with the Speed 12 on the twisties and won most of the races already with only exhaust, chip, and Stage 1 weight red.

How about the new M5? Everyone has this car in arcade mode, and it handles like dream.

up to the driver right? I guess we'd register the cars and say this what i'm running and this is how much it weighs. Limited to 500hp. If a driver feels ok running a certain amount of weight then it should be ok. There are very few cars with insanely low weight like the elise and high trq so it should remain fairly even.

I just think the numbers would vary wildly then. At least with how we have it setup now, we are sure that all the cars are equal - so we are really only measuring driver skill - generally speaking. I don't have a problem with it though - but I think the numbers will vary wildly. I would be open to trying it though. If we are allowed to tweak the car settings, then I think they will vary even more - but the good thing is maybe we can then share tuning techniques and get more technical with those settings.

agreed, this could be a longer term race instead of weekly. Perhaps monthly? Give people time to discuss settings etc.,?
