M$ Goes Nuckin Futz with Versions Again

This time Office.

Microsoft Office Basic 2007

Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007

Microsoft Office Standard 2007

Microsoft Office Small Business 2007

Microsoft Office Professional 2007

Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007

Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007

This is going to make my life even more full of joy. Especially since I work at a grad school that uses Exchange for email and the "Home and Student" version isn't going to include Outlook.

That's what we do for anyone (including our students) that are outside the building. No POP3, no IMAP, just OWA.

In our experience though, using the GAL, searching, and spell checking through OWA still sucks ass. Plus when all is said and done, most people here actually like using Word as their editor.

I still feel justified to bitch about the versions, but I have to admit that I just looked at the video preview for the new application UI and I'm really liking what I'm seeing.
