Lord of the Rings Online?
Anyone?
I picked this up a couple years ago and didn't have the time. Now that I've got virtually all my other hobbies/projects done I do...
I spent a good part of today exploring the world, its incredibly detailed and accurate if you ever bothered to read Tolkien's books in depth.
Detailed world, grown-up players, interesting quests and such..
LOTRO > WOW
IMO

But what I want to ask is if LoTR more team oriented or can it be done alone?

If you want, you can go solo and get to level 60 and do whatever the hell you want

PLENTY of quests for people wanting to solo.

I would have a hard time leaving WoW.. The only game out right now that has peaked my interest is Warhammer Online.
How does it compare to WoW with the instances and end game. Is there an end game?
To me WoW starts at 80 (now)..

No end game (yet)
The game so far is 1/3 done. Eventually you can go throughout the entire world of Middle Earth. Levels are capped at 60 at the moment and the "end game" is the mines of Moria (again for now) New content is added every couple months.. soon they'll have some of the locations from The Two Towers added into the game and later Return of the Kind (Gondor, Mordor and such)
Oh and this game is HUGE, if you've ever read the books (not just the LOTR trilogy) and are familiar with the lore/history you'll REALLY appreciate all the backstories, the ruins, treasures and such.
Instances are really fun, lots of "fellowship" combination moves and tactics if thats your thing. As noted above, you can solo quite a bit too if thats what you'd like.

Keep in mind, this game tends to attract an older audience. There are former WoW players who are hardcore, most just want to have fun and explore the huge world.
the demo is the training level in the full game. the graphics in the training level are pretty bad, they get better I think during regular game play. but the play is very linear, go here and button mash, then go there and mash. I liked koei mashing games dynasty warriors better.
i played for a while when it first came out but got bored with it very quickly it was my first MMORPG and i guess that type of game does not appeal to me because i love LOTR but just could get too into the thing mainly because i knew it would never end. while i know that appeals to some it turns me away.

I guess I am just looking for something else to do. Whether its LOTR or Warhammer. I heard AoC is pretty good, but I was on the beta and was really unimpressed. But then again, it was the beta.
Never played LotR personally. Frankly, I just don't have the time for another MMO.
I did get into Warhammer Online for a few months. I got up to level 30 and I loved the PvP aspect. Much better than WoW in my opinion. However, soloing seemed more like a task than in WoW.
For some reason, I bought the WoW WOTLK expansion and started a death knight. I really enjoyed playing the DK class and dropped Warhammer completely. I hit lvl 80 about a month ago and now have seemed to lose a bit of interest again.
I just picked up Empire: Total War on Monday so I'm trying to get into it.
