Q&A
Q and A time...
1) Browser will go to almost any site......just any one that doesn't contain heavy flash...some pages will not appear..no biggie..just refresh.
2) Browser text input is super easy and SWEEEEEET! It has some advanced T9 type of text entry..very very fast...trust me, all you do is tap tap tap..easy! You will get real fast at it in no time.
3) Browser accepts cookies, javascript, and also CACHE size up to 2MB. It will accept secure certs too.
4) You can save images directly to your friggin' psp photo album. Then use as a wallpaper! Or send to a psp friend (via adhoc)!!!
5) The speed is FAST. I was so suprised from text entry to browser download speeds, it's quick! I'll experiment more on this later
6) YOU MOVE THE MOUSE WITH YOUR NUB CONTROL (analog stick). You can also super speed navigate with your directional pad! You have favorites, home (can setup default home page), history, and rendering options!
RENDERING OPTIONS:
Smart fit - Reformats the html to fit your 480x272
Normal Fit - does not reformat, you'll have to scroll
Just -Fit - Fits perfectly at the 480x272 width
Can adjust TEXT SIZES:
Normal
Small
LARGE
Encoding support for japanese, cyrillic, Western, Japanese (2 types), and Korean!
You can also show connection status (scrolls webpage name, info, etc on top of web page (overlays a scrolling banner on top of your webpage). Delete cookies, cache, authentication certs, etc..
History is legit...easy navigation just choose and hit x to go to website in history.
THE COOLEST SHIT: TAB BROWSING!
I shit you not, you can tab browse! Just hold SQUARE and hit L or R to navigate tab pages..there are I think 5 colors to represent your 5 tab pages..(I'll have to recheck this again). But you can tab browse! woohoo!
That's all for the web browser...
What's next? THEMES! Wallpapers! ATRAC3 on ms PRO DUO! Also accepts direct .MP4...I think iTunes uses this and I think you can just put the tracks on the mem stick...I dunno for sure though.
Images accept tiff, gif. I have not tried animated gifs. You can send to anothe rpsp within wireless range!! Send pictures BUT TOO BAD YOU CANNOT SEND MP3s!
Too much for one sitting...see you guys later.

IMAGES ARE NOT AS THEY APPEAR:
They actually LOOK BETTER THAN WHAT'S PICTURED! Sorry, no tripod with me so steady hands and dim lighting sucks...the web experience is FAR BETTER than that of a PDA!!
UPDATE: Animated GIFS WORK!!

and Treo websurfing isn't bad... just slow... and the screen is square so you do a lot of side-scrolling...
but, it's usable if you're like in a long line and really bored or are in a bind and have to look something up desperately...
How to Update:
How To Update to version 2.00:
The firmware is all-region. You can install it on your US or Korean PSP unit. You must get it from the japan download site. Here is the actual link:
http://www.playstation.jp/psp/update/ud_03.html
Get it from teh official site. Don't worry, it's all in english (the rom that is). Select your type of transfer (for me, it was USB cable). Save it to your desktop, etc then, connect your psp with usb to the computer. Turn on usb connect in the psp, open the folder up. Look under the GAMES folder, create an UPDATE folder, dump the downloaded rom in there. Go to your psp "memory stick" option (under the controller icon) and you'll see the 2.00 firmware update...or you can just shut off your psp and reboot it back up..it'll automatically install (prompting you). Make sure you have your power cable plugged in or else it won't let you install.
IT's 100% FREE

This psp is truely a multimedium device. I mean, what ever game system can do all this? A PDA? sure, for $500 you can get top of the line unit that can play emulation games, watch some vids, and check your schedule...
This shit is the bomb!

I hate the US release dates..ALWAYS so much later than japanese release dates. Everyone I know has it installed already. It's 100% legit.

Sony sells 500,000 PSPs in first 48 hours in North America
is this true?? this means $125 million, ONLY counting the PSP system cost, at $250 a piece... I know I spent considerably more than that, all things said and done....
