Time to go and

 

Just got mine, im glad i pre-ordered through GameStop...about to pop it in and see what all the hype is about.

 

Got mine last night as well. Everyone in EB was going a little nuts.

I'm freaking hooked already and it does a great job at setting the early 90's mood in LA. I've only got to drive through like 25% of the first of 3 cities and already i'm lost.

Also anyone pickup who’s doing the voiceover for the black cop? (without looking in the credits)

 

The next GTA should be based in the future.. that'd be pimp.

I got home at 7 last night and played non stop until midnight. I don't even think I got up to take a leak.

I got this knife and spent 45 minutes sneaking up behind hookers and slitting their throats. The cops don't catch on if you are quiet and some of those hookers carry a lot of cash and guns.

This game is the greatest game ever.

 

You'll put that knife to good use in one of the later missions.

I just started with the gang wars and its a freaking blast.

Also has anyone seen the way you can customize any car you want? Drive it into one of the shops and you can add almost anything to it. From bodykits, to new exhausts and decals etc. Fucking nuts.

 

minch told me to roll with some mexican guys you have to have a hooked up lowrider so he had to make one...thats pretty sweet.

the bmx bike is hilarious too...I gotta check out that skate park tonight and try out some tricks.

 

Yeah a bit later in the game you'll get into a low rider contest with the essays. (<--- thats the school kind i don't know the other spelling)

They had hydros in the other GTA's but not like this. Its pretty cool.

Also anyone notice how easy it is to pull 180's in the cars now? They made the way a car slides around a turn using R1 much more realistic. Can't wait to play again!

 

the cars handle much better in this one, I noticed that too.

although there don't seem to be as many nice cars out there, but thats probably because I haven't really left the ghetto yet.

 

go up to the vinewood hills part of los santos, theres a few nice cars up there...im sure all the REAL nice ones are in las venturas and san fierro.

 

is Las Venturas Vegas? if so, do you fly there which then turns into a new playable map?

 

you cant get to las venturas or san fierro by ANY method until the game proceeds to the point that you unlock it....the only way to get to either of those cities before you actually unlock them is to swim there, and when you do that, you get an automatic 5 stars and you get killed almost instantly by SWAT team and get sent back to los santos. its not even worth trying....ive got to be almost to the point of unlocking the first city....but jesus christ, los santos is so huge if you go to the outskirts, theres still so much to explore, they werent kidding about this game being 7 times bigger than the entire game of vice city.

 

Cities

Los Santos: Populated by the rich and famous, as well as the down-and-out, Los Santos is Rockstar North's interpretation of modern-day Los Angeles. Movie stars and millionaire rich kids strut their stuff in expensive rides, while the less-savory individuals hang out in their ghetto homesteads, peddling death and destruction. CJ's home, family, and former gang resides in Los Santos, and its here that GTA: San Andreas kicks off for real.

San Fierro: Sources indicate that CJ will travel to the city of San Fierro after spending the first part of the game in his home city of Los Santos. San Fierro is based on San Francisco, so it's safe to assume that CJ might be in for a little bad weather. Look for a tight knit cityscape, and smaller, more foreboding suburbs.

Las Venturas: Just like our own loveable sin city Las Vegas, GTA: San Andreas' third main city is Las Venturas. A place where any fool with a few bucks can get rich gambling in the casinos, or a place where the rich and famous can go bust in the course of one evening, Las Venturas has something for everyone. It's also the third and final stop that we know of where CJ will get in on some action.

Can't wait for work to end so I can play again. I'm on the Uncle Sam mission which is a pain in the ass.

 

that mission took me a few tries to pass as well....in case you didnt know, you can pick up 2 crates at the same time, that saves some time, also, you MUST get off the forklift between loading the crates and kill the national gaurd because your buddy will die, he cant hit those guys for shit, its up to you to hop off the fork lift and kill them yourself. its the only way i could beat the mission

 

Thnx for the tip Jim. I figured that's what I had to do. I have another question, how do you increase your stamina? I've tried walking and riding the BMX bike but it barely increases. Btw what mission are you on?

 

You need to go work out at the gym. You can increase your muscles and Stamina there. Also you can fight this one guy at the gym and learn new fighting moves.

 

Yeah I did that but all it did when I ran on the treadmill was reduce fat, not increase my stamina. I fought the guy and got the moves and I'm almost 100% muscle. Maybe I'll give it another try. Thnx

 

you just gotta keeeeep on running....and you gotta do the super sprint (rapid tapping of X) when running, it takes a long time to build up stamina, mine isnt that high at all....im probably 5 or 6 missions past the one you are stuck on. theres a few REALLY sweet missions that you are in for, i cant wait to see what else is next. im assuming that im getting pretty close to unlocking San Fierro.

 

I just bought it today. i'm itching to go and play. and i'm not even into video games.

 

as long as you are into killing hookers...thats all that really matters.

 

This game is awesome. Not much else to say. I see very little sleep for me in the next few weeks.

 

As jimcol said, you have to keep running on the treadmill or on the stationary bike. It does take a long time but I'm already at 100% muscle, 100% stmina, and almost at 100% for the bmx bicycle.


The mission with the lowriders is dope! I've been hitting switches, making all the hookers say dammmn!! LoL. There is even a paint job that i'm sure CLPower will appreciate! It makes the low rider kinda look like his suburban with all the flames!


Has anyone played the arcade games in the game?

 

the first one i tried to kill, bitch pulled out a gun and shot me.

 

first you gotta run a few of them over with a car and find one with a knife.

when you have the knife walk up behind them real slow like and you can kill them in one swipe.

Got to 2nd City, damn this game is fun. I like the missions a lot more in this than the previous two. Story seems pretty good too. Thank god i have no class until saturday, im gonna try to get as far as possible.

Hahaha I got the lowrider and put the CL Power paint job on it too, pretty sweet. This game is 10x better than I expected.

 

You guys need to give me some tips on where to find stuff. I'm just starting out, and not big into video games at all, and i know where NOTHING is. I'm kinda winging it. I'm still on the mission where I have to tag the damn wall with spray paint.

I made it to Badlands or "Hick Town" as well last night.

As far as the cars go so far i've seen a Stang 5.0 lookalike, a Viper GTS lookalike, the NSX lookalike which is the Infernus and they have that 4 door BMW sedan lookalike.

I was able to get 100% muscle and stamina as well. Stamina is easy to get by using the stationary bike in the gym. You can put it on level 10 and its still easy to keep up with it. May take a day or two with trips back and forth to the gym, but it works great.

Also have anyone hooked up their ride with the Nitrous Oxide boost? Car hauls so much ass while on it and its almost hard to keep the car planted.
