No this thread is not great. It has 2800+ posts for a reason.(read it: PWing is cool)

Anyway...I haven't touched any setting for my Group C/LMP cars except the HP upgrades and tires. The Minolta won lots of races for me. You got some stability problems?

you mean bouncing @ the Lemans straights, for instance? That is almost a given... it has to do with the track, not the car.

So no way to counter that? I know at high speeds my left/right negotiation is extremely difficult. Anyway to fix that?

dude........ the XJR9 with full mods is almost as fast as an F1 car - not quite, but almost. Quite stable compared to, say, the Minolta (at least with default settings). Check the video I posted a while back......... did you see it already?

In real I do think NSX-R is the 2nd cloest thing to a F1 car only behind Enzo Ferrari.

When I said its close to the F1 car, I meant in terms of performance. Don't know what you guys are talking about... technology?

btw I think the 2nd closest car in real life, in terms of F1 technology, is the F50 - seeing how it has an actual F1 motor block in it - hell it may even be first, I don't think the Enzo has an actual F1 motor block.

You're right but the production power plant in today's Enzo is more advanced then the Ferrari motor blocks in the F50. And it has active aero(!!!). It looks kinda weird but it's a technological marvel.

oh I know it's much more advanced than the F50, the F50 came out in '95 and has uses the block from Ferrari's 1990 F1 car. Quite old, by modern standards. But, quite nice.

First we are talking about performance, then technology, now engineering advancements... all I was saying with my initial statement was this:

Take the XJR-9 (with full mods) to the Ring, and you can run times close to that of the F1 car. That is all I was saying.

Oh yea I forgot F50.

But since both Enzo and F50 are out of production already. NSX-R should be the closest thing to a F1 car in real life, right?

If you are only talking about current production cars, yes. But, tell me why "whether a car is currently being produced or not" needs to be a part of this picture?

The NSX-R is no doubt a formidable contestant, but no, I have never equated the NSX as being similar to an F1 car. The only cars that have come close to that (arguably impossible) reality are the F50, the F355 (because of the sound), and the Enzo, imo.

The Enzo is surely the creme de la creme at the moment, but I have to give due respect to the F50. And you may call me crazy, but if I were offered an F50 or an Enzo, and I could only take one, I would seriously have to think about it. The F50 has a sound the Enzo can never have... it's imo the best-sounding car in the world, ever.

Bleh on the Jag. When I try it in Hong Kong in the Pro without entering the tourney it gets owned. All I added was a Stage 4 turbo. My best lap time was 1:12 with hards all around. That thing eats tires worse than the Minolta. With all softs it was like a 1:30. In the 787B I was pulling 1:05 hard/1:15 3/1 tires. If the F1 doesn't eat tires I'll just have to win that one first or something.

uhh... user issues. Any of the high-hp cars sux @ Hong Kong, because that track is bunk ass and more suited to lower-hp (read: slow) cars.... take the Jag to the 'Ring or any other real track that has some usable space, and then get back to me...

Yes you are crazy.

Enzo > F50.

Actually I like F40 a lot more than F50 as well...

Unfortunately I have no choice because it's part of the Pro Event Championship. Trust me I'd rather do the Ring than Hong Kong. I'm sure I can win most of the others but I eventually have to beat the track. And you can prove if user issues. Go try it out and tell me your times. Maybe I'm not hitting the track right.

oh ok..... my bad. Hong Kong is a miserable experience with most of the high-hp cars - I never race it unless required.

ps. I was playing around when I said "user issues"... Hong Kong sucks.
