Im looking for a new PC game. Recently I've been playing Civilization IV, but Its getting old. I tried Spore, but it never really kept me interested. Anyone have any suggestions on something else?

 

Left 4 Dead is pretty good if ur into fps games.

 

Empire Total War, it'll be out in a couple weeks.

Any of the Total War series games are good though. Think Civilization on steroids.

 

I always had fun with the SimCity series.
I think the latest one is SimCity 4.
Not everyone is a fan of those, though.

 

What sort of game are you into.

In shooters you could always give left 4 dead or other valve games a try. Also far cry II is kinda neat.

King's Bounty: The Legend is a semi old school rpg/ strategy game that is pretty cool.

Also I'm sure you can find a couple hundred threads about racing sims in this forum.

 

Thanks guys. Empire Total War looks awesome, I will probably wait for this. I just started playing World Of Goo, and its pretty cool and different.

On the racing sim front, the good news is that you really don't need the same level level of computer horsepower to get decent performance as you would with a recent fps game. The bad news is that you pretty much have to invest in a wheel & pedals set otherwise it's going to be an exercise in frustration.

I still can not play through Doom3. I play games at night... FUCK that game. Scares the shit out of me.

They are advanced enough in technology to live on mars, but they can't figure out a way to put flashlights on helmets? Fuck that.

Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare

I like all the automatics. The rifles were fun in COD - United Offensive, but the autos in COD4 just do it for me.

Bioshock is AWESOME! Finished it on the PS3, playing through it again to see if the story line changes if you take the other route with the little sisters. My roommate had it for the 360 and it gave him nightmares for months! I lost a lot of sleep over it too, but only because I couldn't put it down!

If I was going old school, I'd have to bring back RA2. There's just something about going into a heavily fortified base with about 20 3 bar prism tanks that's oddly satisfying. The word unstopable comes to mind.
