Wow, looking good. I like the graphics and the destructible environments. Although the AI can use some fine tuning.

Following in the footsteps of the long-since-passed Halo 3 multiplayer beta, Battlefield: Bad Company is getting an Xbox 360 multiplayer beta this spring, Electronic Arts announced today.

Inexplicably, though, the codes for the Xbox 360 multiplayer beta will be available through a PC gaming service.

IGN Founders' Club and IGN Insider will offer Battlefield: Bad Company multiplayer beta keys to members and to the North American and UK starting on March 25. The codes will be provided by the PC game-download site FilePlanet.

In North America, GameStop will also be offering keys on a first come, first served basis for the Xbox Live beta. With only 5,000 beta keys available at GameStop, gamers will need to pre-order their copy at GameStop to get the code.

The Battlefield: Bad Company multiplayer beta test will give players a chance to return to the battlefield to embark on a mission to capture the spoils of war (read: to get some cash). Gamers will battle through two different maps, access new infantry kits and vehicles as well as experience the unique tactical destruction in Battlefield: Bad Company.

There are still keys left, but you have to have a paid subscription to IGN or Fileplanet, and I don't know if I want to pay for a Beta...

Kinda reminds of COD4, but with vehicles.

COD4 seems more polished, but this game is still a lot of fun.

 

One of my co-workers played the demo and said that it was pretty good. Lots of weapons and multi player friendliness.

Nope, it should stay on Xbox live for a while.

 

It was available as late as yesterday as my other co-worker tried to d/l it.

 

i feel like after cod4, no other shooter comes close .....

 

I like it but I couldn't get on any multiplayer matches... is it just me? or it's not up and runnin' yet?

 

okay, so I played the one level of single player in the demo, and liked it.... but didn't get to play MP til later that night... and I didn't care for it. I was sniping and I swear, I would put the crosshair right on an opponent's head and he wouldn't go down... I didn't know if I was suppose to factor in the distance/wind/velocity/humidity or what? ...just isn't the same as COD4's MP. I'll rent this game, and play the single player... and that's about it.

Funny, I really like the MP. Maybe because I rarely snipe, although most people in the game seem to like how the snipers are setup.

And the first review is in, Game Informer magazine gave it a 9.25.

 

i played some MP last nite. took a little to get used to. i still haven't got the controls down for the vehicles.

ya, the MP is very difficult to kill a person, which is how ive felt about all the battlefield games. The destruction of the buildings and environment is cool and all, but just does not feel the same as COD.

 

Distance makes a huge difference with sniping. It takes 2 shots to kill people with the friggin M95 sniper rifle from really far away... crazy stuff!

 

I love playing the demo and IMO it's better than COD 4.

 

single player or live?

 

I am definitely picking this game up. I still love COD4, but this game is a lot of fun.

The only thing I am having trouble with is flying the helicopter. Within 20 seconds of taking off I have either crashed or been shot down

Both. I love online play in BAD because the battlefield is so much bigger than in COD you can use vehicles that add a different aspect to the game as well.

 

I hear you on that one. I can't fly the helicopter either hard as hell to figure out and very unforgiving.

I can't remember the last time I saw soopa online (360 Live)

 

Did you play BF2 at all? Took me a while to get used to those helicopter controls but I got pretty good eventually.

 

Downloaded the demo for PS3, none of it really impressed me. BF2 was way better imo...this version seems too dumbed down.

 

Has any one went out and bought this game yet? Previews look good but I hear it's not worth the $60? How does it compare to COD/ Rainbow Six/ Metal Gear???

 

I really like it. And most reviews say it is the best FPS since COD4.
