ATI Radeon 9600 XT vs. nVidia GeForce FX 5700 Ultra

I got a GeForce FX 5700 Ultra on one of my computer, just pick up a Radeon 9600XT this morning haven't really try it out yet. i just got it cuz it was a really good deal. just wondering which one do ya think is better? i think both of them run pretty much neck and neck. what do ya think of the two GPU? which would be better for gaming?

the 9600xt is probably the better card for any dx9 game. it will smoke the 5700 in half-life2 at least. really any of the gf5 series cards pretty much suck, nvidia really dropped the ball with them. the new gf6 series is much more competitive with ati's offerings

The ATI Radeon 9600XT definitely kills the nVidia card in directx9 applications. Last round of Video Cards (ATi 9xxx vs nVidia 5xxx) ATI killed the competition. Although this round its much more even, with a slight nod to nVidia

ya, he's right. but GF6 > X800 hands down. Look at the benchmarks from all the games. You'll see GF6 outshines it... granted the X800 holds it's on a few games it's slower all around.
