360, PS3, PC: Saints Row 2
Anyone see this trailer yet?

Looks fun, and I kinda agree that GTA4 took itself too seriously.

It looks very good.
I still enjoy GTA 4 though, I paid $60 bucks for the dam game that means I better.
I might get Saints Row 2, but dam there are so many good games out now and they are coming at us to fast.

Yea, I picked it up and the graphics are sub par to GTA4. But it is fun as hell. The character customization is 3x that of GTA4. I've only played a little, I spent almost and hour customizing my guy. Also, I dont have a HD tv yet so It could look better on HD.

What happened in the first one? Kind of curious if the second one really is picking up where it left off. If so, the first did have a lame ending.
I picked it up this past weekend, and I've played it twice. Customization is beyond reason. You can change things down to spacing between the eyes, cheek lines, how much your ears stick out, etc. You can customize your cars, safehouses, clothes (colors of), everything.
Graphics aren't as good as other PS3 games I've played, and the driving dynamics aren't spectacular. The best way I can describe driving would be the run-and-gun of Doom as opposed to the finesse of a MC or GT.
To be able to do story-related missions, you have to earn up credits, which you earn by doing odd jobs and activities. So far, the ones I've done are fun and entertaining. Completing all levels of a particular activity might be too repetitive for some, but something like throwing people into the path of an oncoming train or causing as much mayhem/destruction as possible in a set amount of time never gets old for me. The soundtrack is awesome...lots of rock, metal, and 80's music.
At the end of the day, it's a simple game that focuses on the most fun elements in GTA as opposed to the grandeur. Silver was right when he said GTA took itself too seriously. IV was nothing like Vice City, easily my favorite game. Personally, I think SR2 is a lot of fun...just like VC was.

The game is pretty open world; it's a lot like GTA in that respect. The only parts that are 100% set-in-stone "go here and do this" type of stuff are the main story missions. If you didn't like VC (or any GTA), I doubt you'd like this.
The game has several co-op missions, a couple of which sound pretty fun. I don't have internet, so I won't get to them unless one of my friends happens to bring their controller by the house.

I love SR2, it is a great sandbox game. Always something to do or blow up. Love thorwing people into traffic and the execution move. :devilgrin

rented this game, seems like they took all the fun and silly stuff out of GTA3 that GTA4 left out, and put it in this game. this game feels more like a ps2 game, but the fun factor far exceeds GTA4 so far. GTA4 quality is unsurpassed, but it doesn't pan out into huge fun. it's fun but not like GTA3. I own GTA4 and it's sitting there while we play saints, co-op is kind of fun as well. also like how the whole city is open right off the bat, and making money counts for something.

Outnumbered at home
purchased this off amazon the other day for 27 bucks (had 10 dollars off any game after buying Batman so only cost 17 bucks). This game is going to entertain me for a long long time. The crap spewing mini game alone is entertaining me like no other.
The driving dynamics do kind of suck but the game is fun as hell.

Mayhem was my favorite in story mode, although sparying people and things with shit was quite fun.
I've gotten used to the driving dynamics. In fact, I've become quite good with some cars, and can effectively drive almost all of them.
If you get around to the MP mode, hit me up (same name as here, but with two underscores).
