the ps3 had major server issues which was suppose to be resolved today. It lasted about 4 days. Everything seems to be working great now. The problem was after logging into Online mode having to deal with a elongated "downloading game settings" . Also servers weren't being "found" to play on. Alls well now though.

personally, I like the setup in Rainbow Six best, I like how you can go up to a wall and "stack up" next to it... peek around corners... (in that position, technically, it's not "first person" but more like 3rd person).

I think 3rd person is best in SP, in MP it is not realistic and abused by campers.

Dude... then I highly recommend you pick up RS6-V... maybe later when you're gettin' tired of COD4... by then... there should be some or plenty of used copies... I still love it... both single player AND MP...

Okay, I need help...i'm stuck at a spot where you get into a barn, grab a rocket launcher. You blow up these two tanks and then sit sniping people for what seems to be about 20 minutes. You kill everyone and more people just keep showing up. Am I doing something wrong?

Once you blow up the tanks you have to go where the helicopter lands down the road (pretty back where you came and go down the hill).

just got COD yesterday and am at the part where you're a gunner on a AC-130. this game is pretty sweet. not sure if it's better than Rainbow 6 though.

Damn, I'm playing on the hardest level and I can't get past the part where me and my injured S.A.S. sniper buddy have to kill about 1 million people with 100 rounds and 10 claymores...

If you're at where I think you're at...I think the level is called "Heat."

If that's the case I believe there are actually four tanks to take out. Two will be in plain sight from the door of the big barn to the left. The other two are to the right, behind the small barn in front of the big barn. You're going to have to move up to that small barn and shoot from there because there will be no way to get them with the Javelin from the big barn. Up in that small barn you'll get attacked by quite a few dudes you're going to have to kill before you can get an uninterrupted shot at the tanks.

(If you're on a lower difficulty you can actually go outside the big barn, and around the corner to the left is some crates or something, and you can nail all four tanks from that position - although on the higher difficulties you're likely to die easily.)

Once you take all the tanks out you'll hear some message about the LZ landing at the bottom of the hill and you're going to have to Rambo your way down there before time runs out. Which is hard. IIRC you get a few airstrikes to help out though.

I think this is where you have to go place the marker for your pickup and then the missions over. There should be a big large yellow circle and you hold down X to summon Helicopter.

I think you have to level up enough and then you can equip the red dot or ACOG scopes.

Yea, but what Im saying is all you can get is the red dot and the acog scopes. (I have both of them) But when you play single player there are several differn't scopes that you play with. For example, on the 3rd level you have this square scope (almost like the camera one on Ghost Recon) and when you look thru it theres a red circle, really fun to shoot thru. But I have unlocked every scope for the m-16 and a4 and all you get is a shitty red dot and an acog.

Brief read through the thread, and I didn't see the follow question being asked (Spoiler Warning):

1. Did anyone actually shot down the helicopter in the last level? I wonder what would have happened if the bridge were never blown up by the helicopter.

2. Was anyone able to escape the level where the nuclear bomb went off? I'm talking about the one where you (Sgt. Johnson from the U.S. Marines) had to go down to save a pilot in middle of the warzone? Basically, did Sgt. Johnson survived through that level for you guys? When I played, he was KIA.

I have both RB6 Vegas and CoD4 for PC, although I do like both, but CoD4 is a far better games. Comparing to RB6, CoD4 has better graphics, much better framerate, much better AI, and CoD4 is more realistic. The things annoys me the most for RB6 Vegas is that you need a really powerful rig just to play this ok graphics game, and secondly enemy spawn themselves. You can see the enemy appearing out of thin air like being teleported.

1. I tried like 80 times to do this but never could. (I thought this is where you got that achievement from - turns out you do it in War Pig.) I swear I should have nailed that thing but it always went wide. I don't think it's possible because it's part of the story. There are no "alternate" sequences, you have to play along to how they designed it to go.

2. You can't do this either, he always becomes KIA, no matter how fast you rescue Deadly. Just part of the story.

^ I love it much more than R6: Vegas. For some reason, I don't enjoy any of Ubisoft games' control. They all feel so "tight". Plus, I don't find it enjoyable having to command a squad in middle of a firefight. With that said, Vegas will be out in 03/08....I'll probably be getting it again

Aight, I'm playing campaign. I'm where I gotta get to the chopper, after a countdown timer starts. I think it's 2 min, 45 sec I got. But, damn! I've been at it for an hour now(was at it for an hour plus, the last time I played) and I'm still getting owned. HTH do they expect you to make it to the chopper in that time, with all these enemies coming at you?!?!
Damn, the frustration might make me trade the game for something else!!

Love'd R6-V, the only thing that kinda annoyed me (single campaign) was the two idiots that's suppose to be your teammates... Most of the time I'd just send them off to a corner and do all the work myself cuz I got tired ot having to save them

oh and btw... have any of you gone back to play R6 after COD4? Talk about massive confusion with the controls...
