360: Forza Horizon
There really should be a bigger penalty for hitting a conversion van head on at 100 mph in a compact car. Even if they don't part damage. The car should be pretty much stopped or out of control. It feels like you can just drive through vehicles with that Evo.
To be honest, no. They seem to think that the wheel trends from whenever FM3 was released are the exact same, and that no new wheel companies have made a name for themselves since then. Of course I mean groups like ADV.1, Vossen, and SSR, but some other wheels like Work Meister's, BBS LM's, or Enkei RP03's would be cool. Honestly as long as you can make them white I'll be fine.
Yeah but what do you want, to total your car out from a 30mph head on collision? If crash physics were more realistic, then you wouldn't hardly get any racing in because hitting anything would cause a spin or something like that.
I agree, but a lot of times I don't want to be confined to a track, just cruising around with no actual limits on what route you can take will be lots of fun.

I should also say that I have gta4 for the pc modded so the cars take more realistic damage and have more realistic handling (mainly removed the traction control so you can steer with the throttle), pretty much any head on crash in a chase is an instant failure unless you can hop in another car in time.

I played the demo for a bit more last night. Im not going to really shit on the game until I actually get it, but the physics, even on simulation, are too arcade-like. If Im going wide on a turn, all I need to do is let off the gas, then floor it real quick and it'll tighten up easily. No drama, no slide. Thats not realistic at all. If you do that in FM4 (let alone the real world), you'll upset the chassis and slide. Theres no way a nearly stock Mustang can go around a tight right hander at 120mph without sliding. Playing it more makes it feel so much more like Need For Speed, and I don't like that at all.
Just wondering, how have did you set your difficulty. I can get a pretty good slide going in that mustang.
Apparently there is a hidden stm setting that only pays attention to the main difficulty pre sets. So you have to change it to expert first rather than just doing custom from the beginner pre set. Still though, the handling is dumbed down a bit from f4, I don't really understand why they would even make that decision.

While the full official car list is yet to be announced, the first downloadable cars were just released. They're good ones. Since you can't import all your cars from other Forza games into Horizon (there are a few crossovers), the good folks who make the game want to make sure you're happy with the downloadable content.
The cars that will be available for the first month of the game are below:
2012 Ferrari 599XX Evoluzione
2012 Lamborghini Aventador J
2012 Gumpert Apollo Enraged
2012 Alfa Romeo 8C Spider
2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air
Six pieces of awesome to blast around Colorado in. Forza has also announced another bit of downloadable entertainment that they're calling the "Rally Expansion Pack." Details are scarce, but it'll also have new cars, events, and achievements. They are also guaranteeing DLC cars for the first six months of the game, which is where they have Gran Turismo beat.

This Season Pass has more in it then FM4, but you pay for it. And they only say the first 6 months are included. Who knows how many more packs they plan on selling. And, obviously this is an assumption, the Porsche pack.
There is definitely something up with the traction/ stability control. In the viper on the dirt road to the dam you can drop the clutch in 2nd and it will barely spin the tires. You can do the same thing on the asphalt just before the road and do a long 2nd gear burn out. I can also slide my truck on dirt more easily at 40mph with 170 hp and off road tires. Heck a 60 hp vw is more fun.
This guy has an annoying voice but he's driving a 2G Superleggera on a golf course
