ZDX Needed Nothing at all

ZDX Needed Nothing at all
Yes another car change thread.
I have moved away from the Acura family but stayed within the jap market.
I had the pleasure of getting a 2013 Lexus GS 350 AWD for 11K under sticker. I didn't haggle i didn't negotiate. I think it was more because 1. my wife has leased 2 cars from them and 2. pretty much they just wanted to get the 13 out of there. So the car was 56K but i got it for 45K.
The color is Liquid Platinum w Black interior. I have no drive as of now to mod it other than eventually tinting the windows. And to have them take the damn dealers emblem off my car the first chance i get.
I've owned a 1996 TL , 2006 TL , 2011 TL & just traded in my 2010 ZDX. All my TL's were base models. My ZDX had the Tech Package. I put that out there to say in my opinion the GS is way nicer from what i have actually owned i can't speak for those who have had higher end model acura's with all the bells and whistles.
I will get the opp in the winter to see how much different the car handles getting out of the snow with it's AWD system as compared to Acura's SH-AWD.
Features that i know of:
Heated & Cooled Seats
BSM(Blind Spot Monitoring)
Heated Steering Wheel
Power shade in back window
parking assist
headlight washer
Most Likely a lot more that i don't know about yet.

Not bad at all.
You sure the ZDX couldn't have used something?

Nice upgrade.

I have a 2010 ZDX i had my torque converter replaced at 20K miles. I didn't notice anything before hand, but the day i took it in the night before the transmission wouldn't change gears. The next morning sure enough the transmission service light came on. It was fixed and no problems as of yet.
I also have a co-worker who's torque converter needed to be replaced somewhere between 40K-50K miles he has a 2010 TL so this problem is a bit more common than people might feel or think.

Thanks all. I would like to say it's def not an April fools prank.
It is a huge upgrade to me as I stated I have only owned base TL's and the ZDX with Tech. I didn't mention Navi and back up camera in features initially cause I assumed most would know that it has it.
It's def taking some getting used to since now I'm stepping up to get out as opposed to down and vice versa. Def can appreciate the real wood kit as opposed to the stick on plastic I paid to have installed into the ZDX.
I've had many different cars over the years but acura was my first luxury car brand so I felt I needed to switch but wasn't quite ready to jump all the way across the board to the German market just yet.
Cars cross shopped:
Infiniti M37X/Q70X
Infiniti Q50X
BMW 535 Xdrive or 550 Xdrive
Would have considered the RLX in AWD but then again might not because I really wanted to try another company.
And obviously the GS.
I'm looking forward to the new journey.

Congrats on the new GS.
I'm curious - why the decision to skip the F-Sport package?

Also the FSport keeps the same engine same transmission just added better suspension slightly different body kit and sport plus mode. I didn't think it was really worth the extra money IMO.

Exactly what crazyasiantl said. There was no way I was getting into a FSport for under 50k maybe not even 55k. I would've wanted it to have AWD and would def have wanted the Red (Cabernet) interior which they only offered with higher priced packages.

The GS is a great car. For some reason the ZDX never took off. I think it may have been too pricey. Also, a 2013 GS has many more features than the 2010 ZDX.
2013 ZDX - 300 hp and 270 torque with 16/23 mpg ($51,815)
2013 GS - 306 hp and 277 torque with 19/28 mpg ($48,160)
2014 RLX - 310 hp and 272 torque with 20/31 mpg ($49,345)

It had nothing to do with the polarizing () styling, poor rear visibility, small cargo area, or small/tight and not so easy to get into rear passenger area.

Once they were in it was all good but getting in and out was the problem. Trying to get get anything big ex.(the two different sets of wheels i sold) in and out was a task within itself.
I have a 2 year old and trying to get her in and out of her car seat forget about it major hassle. So yes the car wasn't practical at all.

I purchased mines back in 2012 with 13K on the dash for 37K so the price wasn't as high as a brand new one. I thought it was a no brainier since my 2011 TL was base brand new and i paid 35K for it. The 2K extra to have a unique vehicle with navi and SH-AWD didn't matter. Plus the Grigio/Umber color combo made it an easy choice.
The sad thing is as you posted the prices, the RLX is not far at all in pricing from the cars it competes with and still doesn't have an AWD option yet. I know some don't care about that but i need/prefer AWD.
When i went to the dealer to cancel my extended warranty at acura we spoke on that and he said acura keeps pushing back the release of the RLX and have absolutely as of now no agenda to make an AWD model that isn't the Hybrid.
He also went on to ask if i was interested in the TLX. I said no without hesitation. Another vehicle that all everyone is seeing is animated pics of and spy shots only, just as the NSX that has been stated to be coming out every year for the past 3-4 that i know of.
I won't sit here and bash the company i have owned 4 . Granted in the future they make a vehicle that fits my needs and wants again i will purchase another.

^Yeah, they fooled everyone at the autoshows and in press photos, but on the road it has 4x4 gap.
They look good lowered though.
