I don't care how exclusive MBZ made them I’m talking about the fact that 90% of Porsche 911T owners hate the Boxter, It's a way for the Co. to make more money (nothing wrong with that) but in my opinion it's just a way for more people to own a Porsche, Lamborghini, BMW. That’s the whole premise behind "affordable luxury" it’s a way for the manufacturers to reach another part of the market (a less affluent part of the market).


I'll put it in terms of something that u might be able to relate to:

Take the car audio manufacturer JL Audio. Arguably some of the best subs on the market today in regards to their W-3 and W-6. But what about the W-0? Not very good subs at all but still people buy them. Why? For the 119.00 that the customer just spent on a W-0 they could have bought something better by a different name. (Alumapro, Memphis, even Alpine) but a lot of people don't care, they just want to open the trunk and see that JL logo.

Porsche knows that there are people who would like to own a Porsche but can't afford a $120,000 car. Lamborghini knows that there are people who want a Lambo but can’t rationalize spending almost $300,000 on an automobile. It's good marketing nothing more.

A MBZ for less than 30K is just a Chrysler, a Porsche for less then 70K is a fast very fast beetle. Food for thought: buy yourself a SLK55 and tell me how it feels to own a 70+K Chrysler Crossfire.

i kinda agree with what boku is saying...i dont wanna drive a low model like slk or boxter even if it is from a high end manufacture.....for some reason i just dont feel the SLK, prolly cus its earlier generations are straight up chick cars, and i dont like hte boxter cus it seems like a porsche on a budget...plus the exhaust looks like a freaking butthole.....space the god damn exhausts like the 911 and then i might buy it

 

I would recommend to go drive both Boxsters and SLKs. If you can come back and still call them chick cars, then more power to you. Now if you have driven them, what did you think about them?

You are right, but that's not the point i am trying to make. What i am saying ism we are all car guys and whether we drive ferraris or hondas, we are going to mod them. And if i had the choice between these two cars i would get the vette, as it suites my needs better than the boxter. I dont feel like paying an arm and a leg for performance parts. I love the vettes relatively cheap modability.

 

ive been in a 911 turbo and if i was to buy a porsche i wouldnt get anything less


but for me its not so much the performance....more of the title....i know for a fact if i brought home a slk (not the new ones they alrite)...my boys would clown on me for sure.......i cant say anything about the boxters cus im sure they got good performance...but im just not feeling that exhaust styling....looks like a butthole

 

but yea in the end...CORVETTE ALL THE WAY......the new c6s are so fucking hot, plus they got those magnetic doors, shit gave me ADD i was playing witht he doors for like 10 minutes straight at the dealership...couldnt stop
