Worst car you've ever driven?
I was thinking about this the other day, and I think I have my winner:
1979 Dodge Omni with a 3spd. automatic.
An absolutely diabolical piece of shit, this thing. It belonged to a friend of mine who inherited it in 1986 from his sister. Horribly built, dangerously slow, noisy, and unreliable to boot. My God.
It was thankfully totaled by another buddy a year later, one less heap off of the road. It made Trabants look like Maserati Quattroportes.

I drove a Ford Maverick once.. granted this was in the late 90's so it was an even bigger POS than it was originally

Worst cars: Datsun B210, used by the driving school back in high school, just because of its lack of acceleration; rental car late '90s Ford Focus for its horrible driver's seat and auto trans. The rental Dodge Neons I drove on a couple of occasions were better than the Focus.
I've been pretty lucky and not really driven a complete POS before-- most of the cars I've driven had decent build and clean interiors as well as some redeeming features in addition to the negatives (the rental Focus was otherwise OK, for example).

You guys have some weak worst cars. A Corolla? A Grand Prix? Those are great cars for some.
91 cavalier was the worst. No ac, no power steering, no power windows/locks. AM radio. 2 position seat(back & forth) 3 speed auto.
86 Sentra would be running up. Same as #1 but at least it had a stick.

The worst car I've driven was a 318ti. I was driving it home overnight for another tech at the dealer I work at. The car had an aftermarket radio with a detachable faceplate and the guy took it so I had no radio to listen to. The windows buzzed above 25 mph. The car had 18 inch full face chrome wheels that had to weigh 70 lbs each, which on a 4 cylinder car feels like double the weight. The best was, on the way into work the next morning the thermostat jammed open. It was also about 10 degrees out that day.

2003 or so ford mustang v6. Why anyone would want once of these is beyond me. The engine was harsh and the fit and finish was non existant. When I got back in the TSX it felt like a limo.

98 Cavalier/Sunfire, 01 Malibu. I've never hated sitting in a car so much. The interior of the Cavalier was simply gut-wrenchingly disgusting.

'08 MX5 GT 6spd.
I had to spend an awfully long time in our work truck this past week. It's a late model F150, reg. cab, short bed.
WHY on EARTH, would you ever consider a truck for your daily driver (unless you constatly haul stuff) Its uncomfortable, dowright terrifying on the freeway, and full of blindspots.

I miss my 03 CL-S :(
2002 Saturn... I think it was an L100 or something like that. That's what the other guy's insurance company gave me after the accident that totaled my 03 CL-S. This was at the start of summer, 2004 and I was just starting grad school, so I had to drive it on the first day of class from VA to MD and it was not fun. I'm 5'10" and skinny - and yet my knees hit the dash and I felt confined. I didn't feel safe at all.
A close runner-up was one of the cars I learned to drive in - a mid 80s Corolla wagon with no power steering.

Worst car I have ever road in? Probably my brother's 80ish CHITVette diesel. Yes a diesel. This car was half bond / primer and half shit colored brown 'paint'. It was a mechanical asshole. I think my dad pushed it for more miles then my brother drove it.
I also rode in a Plymouth Horizon too. I am surprised Dodge made it out of the 90s. Oh wait the Fed bailed them out.

I had to drive my friends dad's mid-80s Chevy Blazer with god knows how many miles on it from CT to MA to help him move home from school back in the day. I shit you not if felt like when you turned the steering wheel right the truck would go left. I had to peg the acellerator pedal to keep it going 60mph. The body roll in that thing made you feel like taking a turn any faster than 25mph would roll it right over. It was horible.
Worse car was a base Chevy Cobalt 4 door I had as a rental when my CL was in the shop. It had like 2k miles on it and already the wind noise that came through the windows was crazy. I kept thinking I didn't roll them up all the way. Nope, it was just a major POS.

A Buick rental sedan back in the early 90s. Don't even remember the model. The thing floated like a boat on the road. There was no feel from the steering at all. I'll never drive a Buick again.
