The "What Not To Do When Driving a Car" Thread
WTF the YouTube description reads "Terror in our Toyota! Sure looks like the Electronic Throttle Control got stuck, huh? Another case of "UNINTENDED ACCELERATION?" My wife was only able to control the car with the PRNDL - 3 teenage girls in the car with her and just pulling into a neighbor's driveway to pick-up during carpool! This could happen to you! The car was totalled, the home has sever damage, and a car inside the home was totaled out and another damaged. Toyota's response: "...no evidence of any sort of manufacturing or design defect..." You look at this video and decide for yourself!" No way, she looks like a retard. Why would you out it in reverse then drive then reverse again, go for neutral.

^^^ yup that looks like the stuck throttle problem which toyota had...
people dont realize that all you have to do it put it in Neutral...that way the car will keep revving....
the messed up part is, the airbag didnt deploy even after that hit...

"You see, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently commissioned a study from the TransAnalytics research firm and the Highway Safety Research Center at the University of North Carolina. And that study found that women seem predisposed to hit the gas when they really mean to hit the brake.
In fact, the data reveals that women are twice as likely to accidentally hit the accelerator than men are."

She had to go through neutral to hit reverse (then drive, then reverse again). The brake lights don't even illuminate in the video, she was on the throttle, not the brakes.

What a stupid ass trend. Almost as bad as YOLO and SWAG. At least there's a chance of the guys in the car getting hurt and learning a lesson. I just hope they don't hurt anyone else.

I love how the dumbass keeps saying he's a great driver.
This was his quote in the accident thread:
Was trying to merge no1 let me over and someone was in side of road
OR!!! Maybe he was driving way too fast for conditions.

That is indeed from a movie.
Im a little annoyed that Darwin didn't follow through in the first accident, but Im going to assume that if this kid keeps posing like the douche he is, its going to catch up to him.
As someone on FT86Club said:
The problem with the gene pool is that there are no lifegaurds.

You don't drive fast with those, you just use a longer exposure. Take a look at the exif data on his Flickr page:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/chrisp...in/photostream
Its a 3s exposure, which is crazy long.
The white FR-S on the other hand uses a fast exposure (which is why the wheels look frozen). I can't find the original shot, so Im having a hard time getting the exif data on it. If he truly were only going 4mph, the wheels wouldn't be as blurred as they are and the ground and background would be frozen as well. Also, Interstate 95.
Blue FR-S is definitely a rig shot. White FR-S, no.
He is either that stupid or has a spare wheel he likes to hang out the window.
Why this is a "trend" is beyond me. I'm with Morgan, Darwin has some catching up to do.
The blue FR-S is a rig shot used with a wide angle lens. The white car is someone in another car in the next lane. They definitely used a fast shutter speed too, being that the car is white, the camera is seeing a lot more light which in turn, makes it even faster.
As Morgan said, rig shots are very slow, about idle speed, rolling shots are another thing though, if you set the camera to auto, it's more than likely it will turn out as the white FR-S has, if you used shutter priority, you can make the camera take a slower shutter speed, and it will make the wheels look like they're moving a lot faster.

I've posted this before, but it's my personal contribution.

Rolled 3 times in the California desert. Wife and I not wearing seat belts and 1 year old daughter in her car seat in the back seat. Wife and I walked away. Took about a year to get my daughter back into a car seat without her throwing a fit. And rightfully so.
This happened the first week I started working when I moved to Texas.

whether it's her fault or not, it's still hilarious to watch.

I wish there was audio on that.
