the LSA tb is 87mm... it's still good till 700 hp... when upgrading to a LS2/3/7, its a 3mm gain to 90mm... the next step is a NW102mm... but that's like 850+ whp before it will even make an impact... everything past the throttle body is 90mm so if you going to 102mm you need a ported snout to match otherwise its a straight bottleneck...
for the V2s, the LS7 works the best as a bolt on the LS3 is the same thing, i thought i read because of the direction the butterfly opens, but you want a gold blade one, not a silver... on mine i use a LS7 with no additional tune and it works great... for an LS2 tb, it's the same size but i usually see them used in the V1s...

So essentially the stock TB is fine for flow.. but the LS3/7 orientation and butterfly valve is more optimal.
I wonder if it's programmed to open wider sooner with the same throttle input.
What's so different about the LS3 butterfly blades (gold / silver)?

I saw spacers being sold, I guess it's a requirement for LS3/7 TB?

I'm just wondering if can do a port and a shave the blades or replace.. or if it's actually programmed differently.
I might get one on the low low and report back on the technicals..

4hundid bones on a TB isn't an issue.. but I like to know exactly what I'm buying.
BC let's be real.. that's a performance Holly 4Barrel Carb price.. and it's just a spring and a blade amirite?

That's not real is it?
Might as well just have a single-pole switch you flip when you want to put gas in the engine.

if i recall, the LS2 was a silver blade... had something to do with the rotor motor inside...
bottom hump of stock LSA... that's one hump i don't care for...
this is ported LSA, the bottom is much smoother
you do not need a spacer for the LS7 on a stock pulley car... it's tight but it fits fine... you def need the spacer for 102mm
LS7 TB
stock pulley
you could do a self port on the LSA tb, you don't port past the butterfly, just the hump up to it... see pics above

i only went LS7 because i plan to do pulleys later on and was just future proofing my mod... even though i already bought JB's ported LSA and ended up reselling it... it COULD have went to J nice but he was being a little responsible alpha... was too afraid to bone unicorns you know...

This is so true. I was looking at that and had out myself on the list for the throttle controller to try that they are passing around. After the ported LS7 I have no need for it. It is perfect. I was super skeptical at first thinking how big of a deal could it really be but it just is. My tuner said it made such a big deal on my car he had to bump up the fuel it was giving the engine off the line since the throttle reaction was so improved.

if you don't plan on doing pulleys and a tune, you can just send your TB off for porting... it's like $150-200 depending who does it... or just do a core exchange... it's more than fine for stock levels and really helps with the throttle response...

They updated the tune on the dyno and on the street but didn't do a full pull for power at all.

Took a long weekend trip to PA this past weekend. I rolled over 80k miles while on the trip and arrived home parked in the garage at exactly 80777miles. I guess I should buy a loto ticket today. Car was flawless and a blast to drive the whole way. I made the trip with the box on top. I did learn that the box is good up to triple digits however not far over that first triple it starts to make some weird sounds I didn't want to hear. Some Google searching shows if I upgrade to a fiberglass box that shouldn't happen.

Yeah that would probably be the responsible thing to do.
Although if I get a fiberglass one then I could have it painted to match the car.

That would look terrible though
If I could get a good return on this one it would be nice to buy a slightly shorter one. Bought this one off a friend without even test fitting it which was stupid and I can only open the rear hatch like a foot and a half. It really sucks. However, it does hold almost twice as much as I can fit in the hatch which is impressive.

Its a lot of hose but you will have plenty left over for other projects.
I also ordered these black hose clamps for a more stealth look.
Used this brass Y to connect the two drains on my can into one.
I then used the drain kit specifically for the V that the guy that makes the metal v badges sells.
If you are doing the same can install that I have I can see if I have enough to send you from my order of hose. I don't recall exactly how many feet of it that I used but I can check when I get home tonight.

Yes I did. I ordered it off Amazon. You might have been able to get cheaper hose but I wanted it quickly. I had more than enough so I could take the long way and make the install look clean rather than going the short route which doesn't look nearly as good. Did you end up going with the same can as I did?
