need some help on the spare tire... saw you went with Drag DR-37 18x8.5 +40 in Flat Black. Nankang AS-1 225/40/18 tire in XL load rating which we need.

did the 8.5" wide wheel give you any issues in the spare tire well? or should i go with the 8" wheel?

are you guys afraid of a blowout? Not just being able to use the air filler thingy in the trunk to limp home?

since the plan is to use it as a daily and a minimum of a road trip vehicle... then i need the piece of mind of a 'full' size spare... i've used that goop before and it sucks, it basically destroys the inside of the wheel/tire and you can never get it off... if i catch a nail and the TPS lets me know early enough, i could at least pull over, swap out the spare and save/plug the tire...

I tried to get one but gave up when discount tire refused to sell me one cause they said the wheel and tire combo were not load rated for the car. I have since put 20k miles on the car with no issue. I did get a really good plug tool kit for I keep in the car in case of a nail or something like that.

So still trying to figure out the intermittent grinding noise I am getting from the rear. It doesn't sound like the whirling type noise I hear in videos on youtube for a bad diff. Not ruling that out but here are some pics I took two weeks ago while under the car replacing the rear diff fluid.

Not sure what to make of this or if it is just regular road dirt and grime.

Also here is what the rear diff drain bolt looked like.

Hmmm...is there a seal for the rear diff where the driveshaft attaches?

I was kidding about OBX...
I'll let him reveal the brand but let's just say it's gonna be exotic sounding.
He says the Corsa isn't loud enough for him...but it's mainly cause he's coocoo!
And I love him for it.

It isn't loud enough for me. I want to hear it from inside with the windows down while cruising around town. Below 45 around town I can't rear it at all unless I step on the gas hard. In the IS-F I could hear it everytime I touched the throttle.

damnit rockyboy for starting that horrid rumor of me switching to OBX

I keep debating on releasing a pic of it but I normally wait till the install to reveal things.

The new exhaust is full manifold back and includes an X pipe.

Yes it has been. It should help me pay off a tiny portion of this exhaust Thankfully they sent me a large enough box that I will have all I need to ship it to you once it is off the car.

So you're glad I didn't mention the brand then!!!

Also...let me look for this picture of oem exhaust...there's no way it won't free up some power for you...
it's flat in like 2 areas!

Just removed the front pipes from the box and for who knows what reason they decided to go with the same flat spots in the design as the OEM exhaust. So I doubt I will be seeing any gains in power at all then other than maybe from having an x-pipe instead of the rear cats. The one spot is so flat it seems like it can't be more than an inch thick.

I did a photo dump on my phone so I can't find it, but that sounds about right and that means there HAS to be a fitment issue causing the design.

I just looked at pictures of two other companies designs and they don't have them so it can't be a fitment reason. Who knows. I didn't buy this one for the power I could gain but rather the sound I hoped to get out of it so not really worried. If I want power there are much easier ways to get it on this car than an exhaust system.

You mean with your right foot?
I mean, hard enough to break traction?
maybe in a circle?

let's start there before we go nuts.

I'm thinking it's cause you went OBX, they aren't very high end, Jason.
So more than likely they just built a jig on the old design and made an exact replica but then coated it with chrome high temp paint for that extra look.

I tried to warn you.
