Vette or M3
If you had to make a decision what would you get and why?
I'm talking about a Z06 -VS- a Fully Loaded M3
Just want to hear some opinions no flames please.

chevy vs Bmw.... you know my choice.
The interior alone from the z06 would keep me away from it. Plus I wouldnt be able to get in and out of the z06 everyday.. its WAY too low for me.
Oh and I would feel weird taking a +50k car to a chevy dealer.. im too much of a snob i guess.
Driving expereince... I wouldnt know.. i havent driven neither.

Always comes down to this...do you want raw v8 power with moddability, but rather harsh and not too big on creature comforts or do you want a technological wonder, high revving I6 with just as good handling as the big boyz?
It's a toss up...cheaper to fix a Chevy and make it go fast. The M3 is maxed out...short of FI, will cost you an arm and a leg to be serviced, but is a better all-around.
Then again there is nothing like the rumble of a 350CI v8 thru some Flows or Borlas....almost like the turbine sound of a Ferrari, very distinct.

The cars are in totally different classes. If you want a car that goes fast and out handles almost anything on the road.. by all means.. ZO6 or a Coupe(if you like to take the top off).
If you want a luxury car that can go fast, pimp in, etc.. get the M3.
How was my participation?

Both sport coupes that are built for performance from the ground up.

OK, Z06 I can prolly score for lets say, 50K even. M3 is 58K but there is alot in that 8K like SMG, Navi, etc. And I think they are in the same perf. category.

I chose the Z06...I love both cars, but from a performance perspective I prefer the Vette. I also heard the new M3's have a problem with the motor's blowing up (I don't know how true this is)..."Crazy Sellout" maybe you can elaborate.
It really doesn't matter which car you chose, you'll be pimpin with either one...

Get the M3 man. Especially over the Z06, the interior in that is worse than the STD Vette to loose some weight.
I see vette's *everywhere* all day. I rarely see a M3.
But it's all opinions. Get whatever excites *you* the most.
Two great cars, two different personalitys.

"mid-life crisis" isn't gonna get your car keyed at the next stop like "BMW asshole" is.
"small dick" is associated with any fast car by jealous people, so that's not a Vette thing specifically.

Very interesting comments here, I am happy I posted this comparo. The Vette has won a ton of awards and gets rave reviews. I have been soooo focused on the M that I just figured if Imma drop alot of dough I might as well SHOP a little bit.

Id go with the Z06 because I am all about performance. The Z06 is a much better performing car than the M3. Styling wise its a toss up, both cars look great. Interior wise the M3 is much nicer than the Z06. If you plan on tracking the car, buy the Z06. It is cheaper to fix and has more mods available.

I like both, but I'd undoubtedly take the M3 over a Z06. Around here, the vette is overwhelmingly used as the mid-life-crisis-man's youth recuperation device (in a bad way). This state is crawling with them, and without exaggerating I've only seen 2 people driving the new vette who didn't fit that description. Nothing against them, it's just not to my taste.
The M's interior features and exterior appearance dominate. That's my taste.
If however the choice was a 1953 - 1962 Corvette, I'd take the vette without hesitation.

I would go with the Vette. You can't beat the performance/dollar ratio. The interior is not too terrible. The M3 is a nice car too, but I just prefer the Z06. So easy to mod and the engine note is so sweet

This one is fairly simple. If you were living somewhere in the middle of this great country, lets says Kansas or Tennesse, then the vette is a definite choice for ya. But living in the northeast esp. in NYC area, an M3 will deffinetly get you lots more respect and attention than a vette just on pure image speaking. There is also a bit of 'trashiness' association with a Vette where as an M3 is pure upper class vehicle.
Performance wise, they are very similar but you get a lot more toys with an m, and vette interior is just cheezy.
Also, keep in mind that the c5 will be redesigned very soon and you will have the old body style, where as an m3 is fresh for at least 3 years.
So to sum it up.....stick with the M

The Vette is not "Designed" by any union member.
The Vette is one of the most advanced engineering designs there is.
