I don't know if I'd trust a used performance car... especially an M3. Go for the new ride.

Tired of the 330 or did the accident leave a bad taste in your mouth? I'd go with the G35c. However that 330 of yours is still sweeet.

330 is getting totaled. The accident was much worse underneath the car. The pics didnt show how bad the damage really was.

Also I wonder how much a difference it is with the g35 and m3 when it comes to insurance... HMMM.

I'd say go with the G35c.. It's a new car and some of the 01 M3's have engine problems

Also dont worry about engine problems, i know what to look for in a engine that fell into that production problem.

I wouldn't get either, actually......I'd go the Amir route and get an Audi. I just think Audis are some of the best cars in this price range......

If you know the 'secrets" of finding a non-volatile M3, I'd get that...

Although, a G is pretty pimp...

I'll sell you mine... I should honestly just get a 6spd accord and put about 10K in my pocket.

The sale would be easy... I have the title right here...

Yeah... I dunno...

I probably should have gone for a M3 to begin with, but I'm a cheap bastard. And now considering a new house is on the way, I should have kept the CLS...

Anyhoo... Without hijacking this thread anymore...

Get the G... Get a FULL warranty, save a few bucks... And we can then go to G meets together! :o

remember one thing a mint 02' m3 might retain its value better than the g35....you dont want to know how much those are going for at the auction

there are just too many g35 out there why not just get a used G35 at let somebody else take the huge depreciation hit...then you drive your mint G35 coupe feeling much better

yea but with the new M5 V10 coming out and the new 5 and 6 series believe me the M3 is not all that. The E55 will kill it while the driver is sipping his coffee on the way to work while the m3 driver will be chirping every gear. The M3 has no torque you have to squeeze the power out the thing while the new V8 and V10 will eat it up for breakfast.

come on the new Benzes are in the 500 hp and 600 lbs of torque

I wonder how the clk55 will fair against the M3

you cant compare a used 40k car to cars that arent even out yet. Plus all those cars you talk about are over 55k

oh, and I can't believe some guy on e46fanatics, asked if he could make an OWN3D! picture of your car! how rude! No wonder you spend most of your time here, where the sane folks are! the thread even broke down to a flame war, with such revolting language

the insulting thread

I know but the m3 is classified as the ultimate driving machine and will be getting killed all the time once the new batch will be coming out

BMW is trying to make a big comeback with the new 5 and the Idrive is not helping much.

Benz is coming out with the 65 series which are supercharged v12 612 HP and 738 lbs. of torque at 2000 rpm

BMW better make the M5 all that Im telling you

Lou, you obviously have no clue why Crazysellout started this thread in the first place... Your talk of "BMW trying make a big comeback" has absolutely nothing to do with the dilemma that he presented to us... why should it matter to him whether "Benz is coming out with the 65 series which are supercharged v12[s] [making] 612 hp and 738 lbs. of torque at 2000 rpm?" They're not in the same class!!! Nor will anyone in their right mind EVER compare a BMW M3, which costs >$45k used, to a BENZ that normally go for three times that price. Oh...now you're getting the picture. Maybe now you should tell him to get the Infiniti like I would do if I were in his shoes.

ps. Could anyone possibly alphabetize the Smilies list??? Pretty please...

Well fuck lou, maybe he should just go get a ferrari, porshe, or lambo!

Tough choice Crazy....if you can get the 02 M3 then go for it. I love the G35c but I love the M3 better! Plus you still have 2 of the iforged wheels in good shape right?

But i dont feel like shooting guns right now.

Only problem i see about getting an m3 is that i cant afford their mods. But i guess thats ok since the stock M3 is pretty sweet as is.

Only things I'm doing to the M3 are the coilovers, exhaust, painted reflectors, maybe a set of aluminum footpedals.

You could do wheels, intake is a waste, there is just so much you can do to the E46 M3.

So what's the worst that could happen, you'll save money.

track experience:
EVEN porsche 911 carrera owners wanted to switch. everyone said it was easily the best handling car over there. of course, every car there was modded to the max with upgrades in every dept., and the m3 was no exception. full brembo upgrades, ac shnitzer strut bars, bilstein coilovers, and some nice ass hoosiers on ssr rims. one thing tho that made this m3 kill everyone else, it was missing 200 pounds. the seats were changed out and some other little things were ripped. still had navi though
still, the m3 rocks.
its not the best handling car, but it is the easiest to pull the best times in, so unless you are a race car driver from best motoring, you will outhandle everyone else around you.
so much grip, one of the tires came completely off the ground in the corner!!!!!!

I told him to get a used G35 coupe in the first page of this thread...Why ?? because I was in the market for a 2001 M3 or the cLK430. Yes the M3 is a great car that handles great but the game has changed and 333 hp is not claiming any thrones.

I test drove the M3 and I was unimpressed for it being the Ultimate driving machine and all.(no torque) :thumbsdn: yes you might go fast but revving the snot outta the engine. There is no substitute for torque you and I both know that. Is the M3 a piece of shit I never said that but for it being called the ultimate driving machine...mmm I dont know about that still a great car

Why are you angry because Im stating facts would you rather I post that the M3 is the ultimate and the Evo wouldnt give it a race at all. and the Evo is $30K but then you would say the M3 is in a different class...bullshit if its going to be the Ultimate driving machine its across the board. A brand new M3 is costing upward to $60K at the dealer while the e55 is going for $75K and clk55 $70k big difference I dont think so

01 M3s are not the most reliable. Having driven a few recently (friend shopping) it is awesome. Just looking at that huge front air dam is worth $100.

The G35 coupe is awesome too. Honestly, the G35c will provide 9/10ths of the fun with Infiniti reliability.

I say IS 300 and turbo the bastard

J/K, G35 gets my vote.
