hmm didn't even think of that one...I'm a GM hater but that thing does look like it's pretty badass for a pontiac.

Re: Re: I know I am going to get slammed

just looked at the pontiac web site and they claim 0-60 in mid 5 second range for the GTO...seems kinda slow considering all that power. car must weigh alot.

Yeah GM has some good cars on paper but within a year or 2 the P.O.S. is falling apart. or when you go to sell it the resale blows on it. at least on a M3,S2000, or G35 you get 1/2 way decent return on your investment. if you buy a union made car and plan on selling it about the time you pay it off. you might as well take your money and throw it out the window.

Get the M3.

It is about handling and feel, not drag racing.

Though, if it is relavant to you, there was a Mustang magazine that claimed 12.9 for a stock M3 featured in a sidebar. Of course, the driver was quite talented....

M3 in winter = bad nightmare

why would you want that?? unless you have a shitter for winter, an M3 is a dumb idea not only cuz of RWD and the tires, but also, who'd be dumb enough to trash an M3 throguh winters in chicago??? that thing would be wrapped around a tree faster than your 330 was!!!

Just about 2 month ago, there was a bunch of them on Ebay, one blue one had a buy it now for $40K. Hang in there, wait until the new one come out, and there will be lots of them again. I rather have an used M3 than another 330.

It's a M3, not a friggin Ferrari...

With some winter tires and some common sense (which Jesal certainly has), the car will be perfectly fine for normal winter conditions.

now, throw down 16"+ of the white stuff and anyone is screwed no matter what they drive. Unless it's a snow plow...

And give J a break Jim. He made a mistake, and owned up to the mistake. Why you're still doggin' on him for that, I don't know.

Give it a rest.

dude, i aint doggin anyone for anything, im just making a simple point. he couldnt handle a 330, an m3 probably wouldnt help his cause, especially in winters. not to mention again, the insurance. any insurance company will look at this and see $$$$$ signs. dude had a 330, brand new, sweet ride. totalled it. now he wants an m3...car has 100+ more hp...more expensive...and they thing hes magically going to baby it and not drive even more agressive at times?? id be looking at something like a Lexus GS or something PIMP that will go ALOT easier on the wallet, the insurance hting will be a nightmare. i wonder if hes even researched to see how much it would be. but i suppose if he was smart, and considering he lives with mom and dad, hed just get the car titled in their name and be a secondary driver. that would help the price. and yeah, an M3 aint a ferrari or anything, but it is easily a car that most people wouldnt want to drive during winter and most owners are wealthy enough to own other vehicles. its definately not on the same level as a CL-S or a G35C.....an M3 is a higher calibur of car, in class, price, performance, all across the board, one that, while not exotic, is definately worthy of being stored in winter time and should be for that matter.

wow Jim sure does know alot about me from ONE accident. Might I add my ONLY accident ever. Its nice to know he cares.

Anywho if anyone cares, insurance would go up $150 a year if i bought the m3. I just called.

Oh and the m3 wont be hard to drive in winters. My 330 was perfectly fine with snow tires on it which i would use for the m3.

HI Jim. Come to a chicago meet one time, i would LOVE to see your manly truck.

Quit being an asshole. Why do you care so much about what he does? My mom drives a 330i in the winter perfectly fine. My mom must be a better driver than you. I suggest you learn how to drive

Are you under your OWN insurance policy, not your parents? If so, I would call them back again. A M3 is going a lot more every 6 months, just over a 330i. I know a ticket will raise your insurance and would assume that totaling a car, would also.

Seriously Jim, The kid gotta into an accident. Are you going to fckn remind him of that shit every fckn day?? I mean seriously, he admitted he fcked up, he learned his lesson and I seriously doubt he will make the same mistake again. Shit, I totalled my car when I was 16. Never got into an accident (that was my fault) since. I didnt have some fcker telling me that I couldnt handle a better car. I have 2 friends with M3s. They drive them in the winter CAREFULLY with snow tires. If anything, Jesal learned his lesson and a faster car will keep his ass in check and more aware of its capabilites. Werd. and stop hating man. You make so many fckn assumptions of the kid's life. It's just fckn ghey. He doesnt want to waste his time fyi arguing with you online.

I voted M3. But performance wise, you might be better off with the G in the long run. Especially once the twin turbo kit is ready. Or drop in the already available SC.

Some say go for a new car 1st, but really think of the new car deprecitation you save letting someone else take the hit driving it off the lot, and the 1st year or two. Which are usually the worst...

Actually, the M3 probably is better in winter than a 330.

Unlike the 330, it has an LSD which features 100% locking action. Meaning, if there is any traction at all, it will be able to put power down.

I don't understand how the G35 will be better in bad conditions than an M3. Same weight, RWD as well, but without 100% locking diff and BMW handling. I have driven the G35, and am not impressed. The feel is just not there, the handling is mediocre, and the interior is just horrible.

DUde a M3 under 40k will be beat the hell up. And they fixed the engine problems in 2002, not 01. I'd get a G35 c or get an 02 low mileage M3 with a warrenty.

Damn man looks like someone's jealous!! Seriously the topic was about what Jesal's next car should be; not whether he can afford another car or not. I would like an M3 but man the Volvo S60R looks plain awesome!!!
