So, I'm back at it again and some changes are coming.
I feel more confident this time around as I abandoned my last build attempt due to some economic uncertainty with COVID and all. Really glad I did / the timing worked out in my favor.
When will the part collecting complete? No clue .. but, I am targeting mid to late 2022 for completion. I feel this is a pretty realistic goal as I have a 2nd kiddo on the way and my first just turned 1 .... pray for me
Part list:
RS4 OEM Inlets - Ditching the China inlets I have so I can actually pressure test the car for boost leaks ... OEM > anything china when it comes to fitment.
OEM RS6 turbos w/ Mamba gates OEM Manifold - These turbos are almost identical size as my F21s but they have a bigger hotside ... same spool but will give me around 550whp & 550wtq pretty easily @ 25psi on Ethanol. The housings actually came from a 2003 RS6 4.2TT .. the centers & wastegates have been upgraded.
Injector Dynamics 1050CC - Currently running 630cc and will give me much more fuel headroom.
2 x Walbro 450 fuel pumps or bigger single bump - TBD - Still figuring out the most cost effective fueling setup for this.
RS6 compatible downpipes - Can't re-use my old downpipes unfortunately as the flange is different.
Built end BEL block 2.7T with OEM 2.7 heads (ultimately decided against cams / upgraded 2.8 heads ... they will flow fine for my power goals and ultimately will make it a torque monster). Also, getting the bottom end hot tanked & rotating assembly balanced with my upgraded connecting rod set. The motor & assembly will definitely be the biggest hurtle financially & time wise, but fortunately I have some buddies local to me who will help with some of the motor assembly.
Full bearing & while you're in there items: Rod & main bearings, OEM headgaskets, ARP head bolts, timing kit, rear main seal, exhaust manifold gaskets, turbo rebuild kit .. etc.
Clutchmasters 850 Twin Disk - super nice clutch ... my FX400 has treated me great the last 20k miles.
I'll post pictures as I have more updates ... but the best part about this is I have a perfectly running car right now. No need to rush.
I have a feeling that you are gonna forget about all these the moment the 2nd kid arrives... Not because you wanted to, but you will have to.
Ordering parts is easy ... it's getting them installed & together is the problem .
Fortunately, I have some local resources & machine shops already identified who can do this bottom end balance / assembly done successfully which is a bulk of the time.
I am oversimplifying it .. I know it's going to be a process but it's something I feel I can accomplish.

I hope you will.
Everyone i know who had the 2nd kid just gave up on life... they were perfectly happy and fine when they had their 1st.
