Also, he already has a cool car - the E46 325Ci in some of those pictures is his...he's just looking for an upgrade opportunity with my E93.

Really, @SamDoe1 , the F10 has been pretty solid. The warranty on the HPFP got extended out to 120k because of an early problem. Otherwise, you hear of the occasional valve seal problem consistent with the issues on the lesser sibling engine, the N63.
This.

Just scheduled an appointment for Monday morning for the windows to be tinted (AZ legal on the front doors and one shade darker on the rear doors and rear window) and to have the entire hood, front bumper, front fenders, and headlights to be covered in a clear bra. The clear bra is something I should have done on the 335i when I first bought it and I'm not making that mistake again.

Good on you for not wasting time with the clear bra.
My car's hood was raided by the pidgeon infantry yesterday - for some lucky reason all the attacks hit the bra. Got lucky.

Believe me, he'd MUCH rather be out on his own! I'm guessing he sees me as second place, at this point. The illness that hit all three kids, hit him the hardest and that set him back a bit in terms of education and employment. But, he's making progress and the treatments are helping. As a matter of fact, starting today, my oldest will be the newest vehicle sales associate for one of our local Hyundai dealerships! I'm proud of him.
Also, he already has a cool car - the E46 325Ci in some of those pictures is his...he's just looking for an upgrade opportunity with my E93.

You could do a rebuild with bigger turbos
... then you would really need a tune.

I'm definitely fucking with you. I wouldn't tune it either.
Okay so widely accepted fact that once you get used to the power/speed it doesn't feel fast anymore.
The Cadillac didn't feel fast to me anymore within 6 months. Powerful, cool yes...but not fast. Pulleys
and cooling and meth and heroin tunes would have assuaged that for a bit.
So if you know the end result would just be you with broken parts and an empty wallet
but you end up with the same feeling, wouldn't it behoove you to just tell yourself you are happy with it
as is?
I bet this need for more and never being satisfied bleeds into other aspects of life. It is probably because
I'm older but I pick and choose what I want upgraded and what pleasure I'll get from it and how much it
costs and how much I can recover if I change my mind and sell.
I guess the real win would be to drive the other cars or buy a 90's tercel that you drive a few days in a row
when your 600hp M5 starts feeling slow to you. Ying Yang...embrace the suck in your life and you'll appreciate
the good things more.

Tesla? You mean Kenmore?
Fuck that...not yet. One day, but not yet.
Now git off my lawn.
Tim, I'm with you...my Dad told me that when I had the Caddy...
he's like know what's cooler than driving like a dick? Knowing that
you can and not doing it. Having all that power and just smoothly
driving around like a gentleman.

3 things - 1) This M5 is WAY more enjoyable to drive in mellow-mode than the E60 and I'm finding myself quite content a lot of the time just driving it as an exec luxo barge...not ALL of the time, but a lot of the time; 2) when I really want a different visceral experience with a smaller, more agile, car with non-linear power delivery, I have the E93; and 3), I don't mess with Teslas. I understand how torque works.
