If you did that, I'd come to your house and stare at it like Randy Quaid's surprised look when he met Wayne Newton in Vegas Vacation.

Trancemission - The Journey

As he started the engine to the car, he was nervous about his journey. Uncharted roads, foreign people...no buildings over 4 stories tall. He was once told of such a place, but never actually thought it existed. He was taught as a young boy that if you venture to far outside of the greater Dallas area, it gets very cold and white. You lose all sense of direction and there is no hope for return.

Today, Trancemission learned the earth was not flat, and that there is civilization 10 miles from North Dallas. Everything didn't turn white like he had previously assumed. In fact, more roads appeared in front of him and more land as well. Eventually, he found the "gearhead's" fountain of youth. A place where $100k+ cars are thrashed upon.

Trancemission called this place, "Track." On "track" he drove very fast, pausing only to urinate and profess his love for "track."

Legend has it, if you drive 30 miles west of Dallas, you can still hear the words "track" echoing off canyon walls.

Cliffs:
TRANCEMISSION FINALLY TOOK HIS LOTUS TO THE TRACK!

I learned today the Lotus is also a rally car.

But, in seriousness, he did very well today. By the end of the day, Trance was easily cutting through the pack. Won't be long til' he's up in the Intermediate.

I had a great time guys. To be honest I was really freakin nervous.
But after the first two sessions I started to loosen up. They had a slalom course and some hard braking areas set up to kinda get me used to it.

By my third session I really started getting into it. My instructor was great.
My problem was really trying to find the lines in the turns. The biggest habit you have to break is leaving the city driving at the door. I kept wanting to stay in my "lane"
But it didnt take very long to break that habit. Once I built up confidence in the car and what it could do things seemed to come a bit more naturally.

My last session I was pushing it hard. I took a turn and when I came out of it I had a bit too much speed getting set up for the next turn......I couldve probably made it....but when I hit the grass I kinda panicked which was my first mistake. I should have let the car go into the grass and settle down but I thought I needed to get it back on the track, so when I jerked the wheel to get it back it ended up kick my rear out to the right and spun me across the track the other way, so I basically went into the grass on the other side of the track backwards. My diffuser pretty much plowed through it and shot up all kinds of dirt and grass that looked as though all came into the car.....I was covered......but my instructor looked at me and said "well, at least we got that out of the way"

He said I handled it pretty good. I just need to learn more....Im not afraid to admit that I dont know the cars capabilities. But I have a much better perspective of what it can do now.

I think it will only get better from here. Ill never time myself......I just want to go out there and have fun....

Went on a "Spirited Cruise" with a bunch of fellow Lotus owners. The experience was definitely more positive than the other cruises I've been on with other cars. The Lotus owners are more civilized and know what it means to obey the law and stay together as a group.

The morning started off a little annoying, I had a 70 mile ride to take, and the main artery to get me there was closed because of the NYC Marathon. I ended up having to go through NYC and take the Holland Tunnel to get to where I needed to go, which was Frenchtown, NJ, the border of NJ and PA. Took a video in the tunnel to hear the sounds that this car makes, love it!

And E, listen to the rev-match downshifting..

I didn't have the chance to take many pics, but here are a few I took:

Yes, there was a Delorean there too..

He was the last car of the group, assigned to communicate with the leader and mid-pack driver to insure that we were always together as a group.

Good idea.

I like these drives. I've done a couple of them with the local chapter of the BMWCCA. They're fun when everyone plays by the rules and just enjoys themselves.

Changed my oil the other day, noticed one shock was leaking, sooo

I decided to change the suspension. Stock is a non adjustable coilover system, these are single adjustable coilovers, allows adjustment for rebound and compression, and ride height. Also have a few other mods in store, mostly to fix the clunky shift feel...

And a quick vid...

Trust me, if you see how annoying the radio is to adjust, you would do the same...To change a radio station, you have to push a button, then twist and toggle a joystick-like knob, pushing in the knob square in the center of the knob otherwise nothing happens. It's much easier to push the number "2" on the remote to get to the 2nd preset. It's a Kenwood Excelon system, the previous owner put it in the car, and I'm really itching to change it because it's such an annoying radio. The only thing going for it is I have bluetooth hands free and bluetooth audio. With the hands free though, once I'm moving, there's so much cabin noise, you can't really hear me. I use it mostly for the audio.
