I didn't mean that in a negative way. Just saying the car is putting him through a few "tests" during his first month of ownership.
I know the car itself outweighs the small issues. I could tell that when he saw 2 girls taking pictures with it.

They're Yokohama Advans. When I save a bit more cash Im going to get another set of wheels and put road tires on.
Those Advans aint cheap. Ill just keep those for track days.

hmm, I was just thinking about an Elise and I then I stumble upon this thread.
So, does it really feel like your sitting on the ground?
I'd love to drive one, wouldn't want one though.

In good time.
E. seems pretty anxious to really get it set in, but we convinced him to start it up today so we could finally hear it. If I had known that it produces a little bit of backfire, I would have recorded it as well.

Which exhaust is that? Larini Sport?
I want to install an exhaust so bad, I hate the way the OEM exhaust looks under there, so cheap'ish. And I like the way the Larini Sport SE exhaust looks... I had a bad (expensive) June and am trying to catch up a little financially before starting to invest anything into the car. The only thing I did so far was order a splitter that's pre-painted black, which i'm waiting for.
I also want to see if I can pick up an OEM diffuser in black, that should balance out the look of the black front splitter and the intent of me powder coating the wheels black.
Ran into 2 problems this weekend, one in which a F$%KING stone hit my windshield on the highway yesterday and gave me a nice pea sized crack, which I took to the shop and they filled it, so it's just a dot now, but it's smack in the middle of my line of sight, so I may end up replacing the windshield once it annoys me enough. I JUST got it back from the window shop, so the 3 minute ride back to work I didn't pay attention to it.
The other problem I had was overheating..I was stuck in about 2 hours of bumper to bumper traffic today. I had the A/C Blowing on me to keep me somewhat cool but it wasn't doing a whole lot with the top down. In the little time I have it, I know that the cruising temp of the car is about 192-195 F, with slower driving pushing it up to 202-205 F. Today, I watched the temp creep over 220, and then started to worry when it went to 226 and the display started to blink, I was still in bumper to bumper and it was still going up to about 230, freaked out and that's when I had to do something quick. I turned off the A/C, turned on the heat and directed the vent towards out the window, and within a few minutes the temp dropped down to 219, at that point I got off the exit and took a detour so I can get out of the catasrophe of traffic. A few minutes later I was back to somewhat cruising speed and the temp dropped back to under 200F. Scary stuff. I think I need to get this checked out..

Sorry about the windshield....I know that sucks.
Yeah its the Larini Sport SE. I tried using euro grills with the stock license plate mount....it wouldve been too much drilling and riveting. So I went with the eliminator kit. It works well with the Sector 111 diffuser I installed. I need to paint it black though.
I can tell you, here in Dallas during these 100 degree days I dont even drive it. The A/C cant really keep up at all. You have to be moving through the air pretty fast for it to do anything.
Did you hear your fans running when it began to overheat?
