Suuuuuure. I suppose its just coincidence that the "body motion" occured once you found a suitable radio station?

Nice shifting btw. You're using the GoPro right? Is it the older version or the new one?

Nice. I have the first gen Hero that I love, but you can definitely see the picture quality between mine and yours, even on Youtube.

Finally got around to installing the suspension today - sorta...

One of my shocks were leaking pretty bad, and I chose to replace it with an adjustable coilover setup instead of replacing the single shock..

I found a lightly used set for half the price of a new set.

I also replaced the tranny fluid with a mixture of GM Synchromesh and Redline. I didn't drive the car, but just moving it around in the shop showed a tremendous improvement over what it was before...Maybe now I'll stop complaining at how bad the shifter is. I have another part I bought to further tighten up the shifter, but didn't have the chance to install it today, will do it next week.

When I removed the bad shock, I rested it on the floor on it's side and the fluid came pouring out like a cup spilling over, it was crazy! I measured all 4 corners before replacing the suspension to compare stock ride height to where I'm going to be after the new suspension. The side with the bad shock was about an inch and a half lower than the other side.

Old:

New:

I ran out of time and didn't have the chance to finish the front. I couldn't leave the car in pieces so I put the stock suspension back on the front and left it like that until next week when I finish it. Problem I ran into is the brackets you see in the upper right corner of the stock image above showing the full system, you don't necessarily need it to run the suspension, you can take the stock brackets and modify them, but I don't have the necessary tools to do it and think I'd be better off buying the custom brackets and installing them. Problem with the stock bracket is that it's slightly too narrow for the tube of the shock and results in the shock rubbing against the bracket. The solution is to widen it, but at the same time make sure that the openings still line up to mount the nut/bolt. I tried to do it with a vise and some muscle and got it wider, but now having a hard time lining up the holes and making the opening for the holes closer/narrower while leaving the rest of the body wide enough to fit the barrel of the shock. I'll decide tomorrow whether to mess with the stock bracket or just order the custom brackets.

Anyway here's the end result - I like the look but fear it will be too low for the streets and will probably raise it up a little closer to stock height for the streets at least, and can always lower it when the conditions permit (like going to the track). It's about an inch lower than stock like this:

....And here's the front, just to show the difference. The rear end is slammed now while the front end is up in the sky, it looks rather ridiculous...

You can see in these pics that the driver's side is lower than the passenger's side, and that was because of the bad shock (driver rear):

I'll snap some more pics once I'm done!

Ordered the brackets, a set of front and rear brake pads because my factory rear pads were just about done, so I'm replacing all around with a street/track pad(Carbotech XP8), Motul brake fluid so I can bleed and put some new fluid in there, braided brake lines, and the tool to adjust the coil over's with, as it didn't come with the used suspension system I bought (it should have, though)

Hopefully I get it before the weekend so I can install on Sunday..

Finally finished my mods for the season:

Sector 111 DSBrace

Nitron Single Adjustable Coil-overs, Carbotech Brake Pads, Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines, Motul 600 Brake Fluid

I added Polyurethane bushings to my engine mounts, but it gave waaaaaaay too much vibration, so I took them off today.

Did some modifications to the shifter for better shift feel, as well as changed the transmission fluid to something that should also help with the shifting.

Few pics:

I hope to send my car out to the bodyshop next week, need to fix a few small chips/cracks in the rocker panels, and I want to fix the lower front bumper that also is a little chewed up from the previous owner. While I'm at it, I *might* have them fiberglass the turn signals out on the nose, for a cleaner look. Will have to relocate them to the headlight assembly, I think I'll convert the parking lights to a dual filament setup so they would also flash, to replace the turn signals.

It would look like this - minus all the aero - What do you think?
