And yeah, what's with the 5?
The 5 is for 2005, so "2005 S2000". I wanted AP2 just like I had UA6 on the TL, but the NC DMV wouldn't allow it I'm not in love with this one, but it'll get the job done until I decide on a new one.

Edit: Of course the fucking DMV site says AP2 and S2K are now available; they weren't last month. Bastards!

Wow! Sorry to hear about the engine. I just picked up an 07 with 36k miles last weekend. Needed a new garage queen after my 98 ITR was kidnapped and stripped a couple months ago. I still need the TL for main driving (and winter duty) since I live and work in a not so great area.

Congrats! That's a gorgeous GPW Be sure you check out the S2k thread here: https://acurazine.com/forums/car-talk-5/official-honda-s2000-thread-385130/

Even though I have the car back, my stomach turns every time I think about what happened. It's certainly something you never think will happen to you...until it does

I like white cars but I'll never own another one They are EVERYWHERE and seem to show dirt rather quickly. I've gone 3 weeks between washes with my S2k and I could barely tell that it needed it.

I really wanted a Laguna Blue Pearl S2k but they're insanely hard to find. A few were out there but either they were beat to shit or had extremely low miles and were out of my budget. I'm happy with Silverstone though

Sorry to hear about your car, but glad it's fixed and insurance covered it. I had a similar problem with my 99 Cobra. I drove through a deep puddle and sucked up water through the intake. I drove it home 45 miles on the interstate and almost didn't make it at the end. I checked the dipstick and it was milky white. Luckily, two oil changes, spark plugs, and sea foam fixed the problem. I took off the CAI and replaced it with a RAI once I got the car back.

Congrats bro. She looks very pretty. Sad to see the tl go but I guess a change is good. So I'm guessing you are saving the aspects for the s2k?

You know, I just realized, you've de-modded the car...that's the wrong direction. I am disappoint.

Funny what you say about a white car, though. I thought my WDP TL showed dirt the least, having come from black and silver cars prior. I think your perspective is skewed...your TL sat outside and your s2k sits in a garage. It makes a huge difference. If you had both cars in the same situation, you'd see the white looks cleaner longer.

I don't think so...

it just won't show swirls. Even yellow shows dirt super fast in comparison to my black car.

Thank you sir! The TL was a fantastic car to me over the years. I hope the S2k treats me even better! I've been wanting one for a long time and finally pulled the trigger!

The A-Specs were sold to a local Acurazine member. It was hard to let them go but they went to a good home!

I've seen some crazy weather in the past, especially with growing up in Florida, but I had never truly seen a flash flood in person. It makes you speechless. Even more so when you're a sitting duck in traffic and you can feel the water start to push the car sideways

It was and still is a shitty feeling regarding what happened. However, the car is running great and I'm very thankful that insurance took care of me!

Yeah yeah I know

The first 4 years I had the TL, it was garaged. It sat out for two years during college and for one year afterwards, and it seemed like it was always filthy. You could see the dirt and dust collect on the shelf of the rear bumper and the side skirts just from making a 10 minute trip down the road. I couldn't stand it.

Plus, white cars blend in with rental cars, pedophile vans, and every other car on the road Silver isn't much of a change but I'm happy with it!

I really had to look for swirls with WDP. I've noticed some on the S2k and hope to cure that issue soon

wtfff?!

last time I was up in here I was like piitb.. Only penguino would bend his rod doing so. Was the block salvageable after, or did you send that rod out of it? Might be a good frame-off build otherwise. Sucks.. Don't feel too bad T.

I wasn't able to see the damage in person, but from what I was told, the connecting rods were bent and there was a hole in there somewhere...but I'm not sure where exactly.

An entire engine assembly was sourced and was installed in the vehicle. I thought about LS swap but realized that was more of a dream

It would have changed the characteristics completely. LSx are generally low revrs.. Being a bit high strung is part of what makes the s2k great.

Holy shit man, sorry to hear about the engine! Glad insurance was able to fix it up for you though, that bill would have been tough to swallow otherwise.

Hope they put a standard intake on it this time...

I find that the only cars that look really awesome in white are the German ones. Just something about the specific white they use looks kick ass every time.

American and Japanese cars in white look pretty bland to me.

I'm in St. Paul. Check out the Twin Cities thread in the regional forum. There's a gtg tentatively set for the 29th this month.

LS swap would be nice .. until you actually start looking at pricing it out.

You're looking at $5,000 startup for the differential & LS swap kit .. this is before you even score an engine, transmission or the differential itself.

It's an expensive project to undertake, FI + F22 almost makes more sense.

How about a turbo K24 or K23A1 swap.. not a screamer but probably better FI support. I'd just be happy NA.. it's not all about .. if you want fun HP.. it's probably a lot cheaper to buy something that is cheap with an LSx in it already.

Dude... I'm so sorry to hear about the news... I would have cried for a week long for sure.

Good thing you were able to locate the engine and got everything taken care of through the insurance.

And say no to any type of engine swap. Are you kidding me!? It's a S2K, not a NA Miata.

Yeah, you actually need to know how to drive it properly to add more power. You don't need more power to go fast in the S2Ks. With a few tweaks in the suspension/aero mods, it becomes a hardcore machine. The driver mod is most definitely required though.

Penguins are fantastic drivers

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baXUdl3VbgE

Thanks everyone for the kind words! This certainly wasn't a pleasant situation which is why I kept it to myself until it was resolved. I knew questions would be asked that I couldn't answer...plus I didn't really want to talk about it

The new engine is fantastic! Of course there isn't quite as much noise now that the stock intake is installed, but I'm not heartbroken over it. That just means that it's time for catback

Edit: YouTube video, y u no embed?!

Tyler. I do plead that you do the 38MM 1.5" UK mod before you spend the money on an exhaust. You'll see.
