Tint in Houston?

Hey guys...I'm looking to tint my new car...just wondering if there are any reputable shops / brands around Houston.

Thanks.

Ask your dealer who does their new cars. They have to warranty it so they use someone good.

I asked & the guy gave me a name and a number to call - he also said to mention his name for a discount. Turns out that there was no discount - the jackass at the shop quoted me the same $500 number that the dealership did, but that they would give me a $50 discount since I mentioned the salesperson's name. I'm not retarded - but I am annoyed now. It's not even the good tint (ceramic or better) they were talking about. Such a ripoff.

Thanks for the suggestion, though, Zippee - didn't mean to be a downer on your idea.

I know a guy, they have done all of my cars. He will go as dark as you want. If I had a Lambo he would still be the one to tint it. PM if you want the number

Ask a different dealer or two...doesn't have to be Acura. Also be sure to talk to the service guys who get the work done, not a salesman.

Meh..it was a Lexus dealership (IS250) - pretentious bastards.

At one point during the sale, I was bad-mouthing the people that lust over cars beyond the normal adoration of a bad-ass ride by saying "when it comes down to it, though, it's just a car" and the guy interrupted my last word to say "Oh, it's not just a car...this is a Lexus"

i went to a shop called executive motors (i think that's what it's called) on hillcroft and richmond. (between richmond and westheimer)

they did a very good job, imo. a guy i go to church with is friends with one of the managers. so he hooked me up with a good deal - 50% off. can't remember the brand of tint, but it was 30%. it wasn't the metallic kind though since i didn't want to risk any interference with the navi.

but i'd recommend them - they're pretty cool and several people i know that got their tint there were pleased.

where are you in Houston, Jedi? I kinda want to check out different % of tint on real cars first. If you're nearby, I'll buy you lunch for your trouble if you care to meet.

You said it wasn't the metallic - did you get ceramic or dyed or something else?

gdubb: I called your buddy and left a message, so I'll talk w/him when he gets back in town. Thanks, man.

Yeah, yeah...with a porcupine, the pricks are on the outside.

I had that as my sig for a bit, except about BMW. I'm a nice guy, though.
