Are there any plans for a new TL-S?

Just wondering, are they planning to revamp the TL-S pretty soon? I read that they usually do new gen's every 4 years, but what about minor facelifts?

What the heck is A-Vtec???? They have that listed for the TSX in '08. Never heard of that before. Is that something used only on the Turbo K series motors?

Honda released official details on its Advanced VTEC (A-VTEC) system in September last year, but up until now there hasn’t been much news of any production applications of the technology. A new patent has been registered in the US Patent and Trademark Office that appears to be the application for a new Advanced VTEC system from Honda titled “Variable valve actuating device.” A post on the Temple of VTEC website claims the new technology would continuously vary lift or duration of the valves, similar to BMW’s innovative Valvetronic, rather than using a stepped change as both VTEC and i-VTEC have used.

The technology can be applied to both SOHC and DOHC engines, and the elimination of throttling losses and the total control of lift and duration as outlined in the patent means that Honda’s claims of double digit gains in fuel economy over existing Honda engines is believable.

A-VTEC is expected to debut in the 2008 model Accord and should feature in both the four-cylinder and V6 variants. The benefits of the A-VTEC system is improved top end power matched with decent midrange torque and fuel economy, all while using a simpler and lighter SOHC engine.

But there's a lot more info about it somewhere at TOV.

EDIT: Found the link

^^^ Since the TSX came out I've liked it. My only gripe about it, is it's lack of torque. It's HP is decent for it's size. But it's torque is a joke IMO.

The Turbo K motor for it is a great move, let's hope it sticks and comes in a stick SW-AWD is just the icing on the cake.

Based on your usage of the smileys in your post, it would appear as if you and yumchah have been talking more often.

Yeah, it's going to be really interesting to see where Acura is gonna go from here...

The intro of the TSX and the redesign of the TL and RL were great, but lets see if Acura can take it to the next level and try to compete with the other lux automakers...

I'm more interested to see if any affordable coupes will be available (since I won't ever own a NSX)...

Ascetically speaking, I hope they don't butcher the grille on the other models like they did on the '07 MDX.

Well when Acura put the 04 TL on the market it had the most HP in its class correct? Its also second best selling it its class only beaten by the BMW 3 series. So I think Acura can diffenently pull it off. The MDX is doing great 4000 a month with 3 dollar gas?

To say that you misspelled that word would be a gross understatement. Firefox FTW!

It's alright though...you get a free pass for being a good guy.

I am using Firefox though.

I spelled the word so badly, that it spelled a word that does in fact exist so the spell check didn't flag it.

Agree......Acura folks say a TSX coupe (a hard top would be great ) will be in the 08 line up.....they are not sure about a TL coupe (or not saying)......been told all new models will have SH......now if they can just design some nice wheels rather than beating you up for the A-spec wheels or making you go after market....
