tax question

Im in Arizona and I plan on buying a car from a california dealership where one of my friends work. How would they charge me for tax and title and license fees if i plan on registering the car in my home state?

Your state will simply charge you tax based on the Bill of Sale. So they'll take your purchase price and charge you whatever the rate in your state and county is when you register your car...

If you finance, normally they can do the title work for you ... If not, they'll cut you a check that you'll take to the DMV.

I've done it both ways. Having them do it is easier

you'll pay sales tax when you register your car in zona. thank god, that cali sales tax is brutal! documentation fees for used automobile should be minor, have the dealership include that in your final price.

yeah thats pretty stupid. one time i stopped for gas there and waited a bit for someone to pump gas for me. nobody came so i proceeded to pump it myself when out of nowhere this stupid girl came running over to me yelling as loud as she could "DID YOU KNOW ITS AGAINST THE LAW TO PUMP YOUR OWN GAS!!!?!!!" like she was gonna call the police on me. it was stupid but hilarious at the same time.
