I wish I could have sent it back but I had to drill two extra holes in it to mount it using the existing holes in the trunk lid. I'm trying to sell it now in some classifieds but no buyers yet. I'm going to lose most of my money on it but thanfully it was under $100 shipped.

Good choice on your part.
Exactly. It didn't flow with the car at all. I've seen them painted body color and they look better, but I'm not going to drop that much coin on it at this point. And the fit wasn't good at all either although I was told it works on the first gens but maybe it was just this spoiler manufacturer IDK.

Good point. Usually I'd Photoshop it before purchasing but I got lazy. Lesson learned.

Thanks. I'm going to do a before and after video. I'm also hoping to do a before and after dyno since the shop I'm likely going to take them to does dyno tuning and I will need a custom tune with these.

In theory at least right? Well I found a shop near me that claims they'll install them for a better price than anyone around but they need to see them first. These guys do some seriously fast cars and have an on-sight dyno, so if the price is right I'll let them do the hard work.

We have visual emissions inspection in my county so I'm worried longtubes would be an instant fail due to the relocation of the cats. Not worth the hassle or extra cost for me. Believe me though I thought long and hard about long tubes. It was a tough call.

Whelp got a quote of $600 for the install from a local speed shop, who also attempted to talk me into returning the shorties so they could order me long tubes and gutted cats lol. Oh well. Looks like I'll be doing the install myself.

Ha ha I knew that'd be the response. Long tubes definitely gain more than shorties, but where they really shine is with a cam and I'm just not going in that direction with this car. It's time to move on from modding until the next car comes along.

Inspection stations have no idea where your cats normally belong, so you would be fine for the visual as long as you have cats.

Anyway, you make a valid point down the thread. But, if your going to do it, might as well do it right with long tubes. The difference in power would be significant.

Good point. I did come to the conclusion too that these guys getting paid minimum wage at emission stations aren't going to know the difference in cat location.

Can't really argue with you on that one, although as you know, even when you buy a car that's already fast you still mod it. It's an addiction. It's not like my car's a slouch by any means anyway. I'm actually really happy with how it performs as-is, this is just one of those things I've been wanting to do for a while and got a great deal on them.

Fuck it...take your time, install yourself = profit.
I know what you mean, although so far, all my modding has been to hear more whine, and to hear more growl. Some extra hps just come with the territory but this stupid thing already gets up to a buck thirty WAY too easily.

But with a little more HP you could be getting up to a buck fifty way to quickly and a buck thirty way way to quick. Just saying #BigV8Problems

Made another GoPro POV exhaust video. It sounds better than the last one because I moved the GoPro further away from the exhaust and centered instead of on one side. I wanted to document the sound before installing the headers to see if there's any noticeable difference on the outside after the install.

I installed my JBA shorty headers this weekend. 12 hours spread over two days laying on my back with the car on jack stands. Although the install was fairly straight forward, reaching bolts and getting enough torque on them to break them loose was the real time consumer. I used every single extension and wobble attachment in my arsoal along with a few extra I purchased before the install. My knuckles are destroyed as expected. I started with the drivers side, which I was able to complete in 4 hours. I knew the passenger side was going to be tougher but my god it was worse than I imagined. The motor mount is a two piece unit which was a beeoch to get out I had to jack the engine up and down a few times to reach various bolts.

Overall impressions are good so far. No leaks or weird vibrations or noises which was my biggest concern. They still need some time to break in and I will need a custom tune to really reap the benefits, then I'll determine if they were worth the cost and effort. Exhaust note didn't change drastically as expected, maybe a tad deeper/throatier, but I'm going to rely more on a new catback to get the sound I'm looking for in the future. Hmmm mmm Corsa mmm.

Tight quarters even on the drivers side. The passenger side was way worse due to the starter and alternator location

Pretty damn clean for 73k miles on the clock

Old vs New

The pivoting head wrench was a must have for the two middle top bolts

Money shot

Nice! I'm sure you'll see some nice gains with a tune.

I feel you man, I put a lot of our old rugs & carpets in the garage so I can lay on them during projects like these

Look at the Borla Attak...I actually dont like Corsa for the Charger/Challenger...sounds too Euro for me.

For some reason Corsa for the Durango...I needs it.
