I'm sure they're awesome, but I just doubled my bulb budget for the Morimotos so I'm not going to double it again for the Philips. This whole HID project was a complete spur of the moment purchase so I'm trying to be reasonable with my spending.
On an unrelated note, my amazing wife bought me a GoPro Hero 4 Silver for my bday/early Father's Day present. Let the wide angle videos commence!
Well, I guess if you know no better...you're better off. The bulbs mentioned are well worth the expense, especially since you just bought the lights from a guy used and probably saved a couple hundy.
Won't spend fiddy more on bulbs, wife buys four hundred dollar camera.
PS...that camera is fuckin awesome, man...you're gonna love it!
I personally didn't love them and noticed a big difference when I decided to cough up the scratch and put in the CBI.
But I agree...definitely better than what he was gonna use!
Just got back from ATL for a little weekend vaca. Decided to give the GoPro a whirl. Not loving the way the Flowmaster catback sounds at times, but I'm wondering if the pinging sound is amplified due to having it too close to just one of the exhaust tips? I don't know, but when the car goes into ECO mode the exhaust sounds absolutely terrible. This might push me to get a different catback in the future, either a Corsa Extreme or Solo.
Solid point. Inside the ca when the MDS kicks on it does have some slight drone and resonance to it, so I think I already had in my head I'd eventually upgrade to a Corsa catback so this may have just confirmed that I should go that route sometime in the future. I do like how it sounds when I'm in auto stick and on the throttle though.
I finally got around to installing the HIDs. I have a very, very slight flicker from the passenger side. I can hear a slight buzzing so I don't know if it's the ballast or the anti flicker unit. This mod has been a complete b*tch to get right.
I spent all day yesterday working on Sapphire. I had a small leak coming from my thermostat housing that was spraying coolant all over my engine compartment for the last few weeks. I decided it was an opportune time to put on my new Billet Technology billet aluminum thermostat housing and replace the JET 180° thermostat with a new one since I was in there. I also pulled out my coolant tank and flushed out all the crusty build up that is a common problem with these cars. While it was out I decided it was time to paint it satin black to match the rest of the engine compartment, as well as the windshield washer tank. Enjoy.

The lights giving me issues from day one and then this week getting screwed by my local dealership on the airbag and timing chain guide recall work. Basically lied to about the work being done while my car sat for two days and then told it could sit there for weeks.
LMAO...I was like, yep...that what's in the picture will certainly cure your dodge ails!
Damn bro... I swear, just reading about issues makes me realize I may not stray too far from not modifying this new thingy. Troubleshooting wiring and bulbs and how they play with new technology is kinda a nightmare I'm gonna try and avoid. I was considering adapters for the D2S CBI bulbs but I think I'm gonna leave well enough alone.
Thanks man. Things are looking up today. Hopefully I'l be able to install the new wiring in the next few days, fingers crossed that'll solve my problem of the passenger side light not coming on at all now. And I got a call from Chrysler Corporate helping me find a new dealership to have my recall work done at, and they're hooking me up with a loaner car, so good news there, too.
that's the only problem...if your wiring is pissing you off, you can always revert to stock, no?
Fuck it...it's funny how overwhelming a problem ahead of you is, but once it's in your past, you barely remember it. I try to keep that in mind to keep a level head when something pisses me off.
