Thank you sir. He finally sent me a screen shot of the tracking number in a UPS mobile app on his phone but when I enter it in it says can not be found. The plot thickens. It says to arrive today so yeah fingers crossed.

Well the ported TB was a complete disaster. It showed up yesterday and I installed it. Took the car for a test drive.

I was stoked because it felt like the car was responding really well to it. It seemed more alive and responsive. Well all things went to crap when I got onto the highway and started cruising at 70mph. My dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree and my car went into limp mode. Thankfully I was near an exit so I got off and pulled onto a side road the first chance I got. My engine sounded like it was going to implode so I quickly shut'er down and waited a minute or two. Started the car and it seemed back to normal. Hmm. So as I was heading back home the Electronic Throttle Control light and Traction Control light would intermittently flash on and off. Got home and as I was creeping into the garage the idle was surging randomly up and down and at times it felt like the engine was going to stall. WTF.

I took a video of the lights flashing on and off and the idle surging and posted it up on one of my FB HEMI forums asking for suggestions. I got everything from you need to reset the throttle calibration, to you need the dealer to re-flash the ECU, to it could be a faulty TB or you need a custom tune. I made the decision to first pull the battery cables and then re-calibrate the throttle to see if that would make the car relearn with the extra air flow. Took 'er back out of for a test drive and within a minute the RPM was surging and the warning lights were going on and off again. Motha effer. When I got home I contacted one of the well know Diablo tuners to try the custom tune option and he immediately responded saying that a ported TB should not cause the car to do the things I described and he was positive it was a faulty TB. He suggested putting the stock TB back on and if it went away there's my answer. So I did and it was back to normal.

Thankfully the seller, who was terrible with communication during the shipping process, responded right away with refunding me my money via PayPal. I shipped it back to him this morning. At the end of the day I lost about $20 due to PayPal fees and shipping. Oh well. Lesson learned. No more used ported TBs and probably not even any new TBs at all in my future. I'll be using the money I got back toward headers and a custom tune in the spring.

Dang that sucks. These new electronics throttle bodies are a pain though. They don't always completely close and once they are broke it is broken for good. I actually had a brand new TLSHAWD throttle body for my supercharger build go bad in the first two weeks of use. Luckily the dealer warrantied it even though I didn't tell them what it was for. I have heard of it happening on other cars as well.

Yep you're right. They're very touchy now-a-days. The guy I bought it off of did a pretty crappy job packing it so I bet it got knocked around pretty good which might have killed it.

Every time I think of modding the car, I look at the $$, and realize I'd be better served buying a new gun

Dude...I'm sure you didn't see it but I posted where I recently had a major electrical meltdown (and small fire that started) in my TL from some of my previous knucklehead wiring...
lucky for me my wife and newborn were in the car with me and knew what to do.

for serious though...in removing all the BS I didn't need...and in reading your story I couldn't help but feel this huge weight off my shoulders as I turned my car into a more reliable, less problematic and more mature version of itself as it reflects where I'm at in life now.

I told the wife, next car...sure, I'll do an intake exhaust maybe...but I'll stop at lowering and wheels and not mess with stuff the engineers didn't put in the car in the first place.

Anyway...glad the guy refunded you without issue and that your car isn't fkng you in the anus.

Damn man I didn't see that. That's insane. Glad to hear you and your family were able to get out and it sounds like there wasn't too much damage done.

As far as my mods go, there's nothing done other than the electronic shift kit that required any wiring, and that one was very straight forward, so hopefully it'll never come down to a fire situation. I won't lie when the lights on the dash came on and my engine started running like poop it freaked me out a little, but thankfully I had read some posts about possible issues from a TB install and that was one of them.

Anyway, there's not much else to he done on the R/T other than headers and maybe a rear diff gear change, but again, no wiring is involved thankfully.

Well, didn't mean to sound like Chicken Little but yeah, but I appreciate the sentiment. Not like all car mods are bad now, but I'm just more leery.

Decided that since I'm not going to supercharge Sapphire I'd drop the 6.4L 392 into her instead. Y.O.L.O.!

J/K they're just the half covers from one. Just a little modification needed to get them to fit. I'm not going to leave the Powered by SRT on there. Going to shave down the SRT part and put 345 on there. It's a work in progress.

Is it really bad that I really wish that for Christmas you open your garage and magically you DO have an SRT in your garage?

Not the way I wanted to start 2016. New Year's night and coming back from the mall with the fam to find this. Thankfully it was literally just touching and there was no damage. Still nearly gave me a heart attack lol.

The next day I worked on the Powered by SRT half covers. You can see where I'm going with this. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to paint the hashes red or match them in silver. Right now I'm leaning toward red I think.

Thank you sir.

I took a photo of their license plate. I felt the poop smearing might have set a bad example in front of the wife and kids.
