Strongly thinking About 2jzGte

Will you be doing your own work or will a good shop do the heavy lifting? A conversion will be harder to sell down the line, but a swap is more involved.
Tough questions, its a big job either way. I recommend checking in here:

One more thing, check Texas smog laws carefully; in Cali you cannot backdate an engine swap, the swapped engine must come from the same year of car or newer. Your SC is a '99, Supra production for the U.S. stopped in 1998.....

if you going to do a full swap and don't have a MT, do the whole thing at once... if you plan on keeping it AT, i would just boost the GE engine... it is more than capable of handling FI... alot of GS300 guys already do it...
and i am also on CL for my 2GS...

There is a shop here in california, dont remember the name right now, that will swap the motor, 6 speed trans, differential, the wiring, and net you about 450 hp with the stock turbos for 9 grand. I almost did it a few years ago when i had mine, but i sold the car instead. Doing the swap, you would be able to do almost anything you wanted to do later on like make 800 hp on the stock block etc.

lol I think my friend knows the guy with the GS300 pushing 700 to the wheels. Wheelspin at freeway speeds
like Mirror said check your smog laws cause I don't know how they do it in Texas, but I think you could get away with it in places like Florida. If you can, find a shell for an IS300 or an SC for cheap, drop the 2JZ-GE in that and sell it and you'll make some money back.

My friend has a 1JZ/2JZ motor in his Soarer (SC300). Conservatively, he is at 500 plus.
OP: I say do it. If you want more info, send me a PM and I'll link you to the board he's on, then his user name so you can see it. The thing is a beast.

Well there is a reason its called MANual transmission, but anyway these cars can be a lot of fun. Mine was going to turn into a money pit so I got out of it. Maybe one day ill find another in better condition. Good luck with the build and post pics.
