Starting a Stored Car

Hey guys. Just wondering if you can give me some tips. I have a 98 Mustang that's been sitting in storage for about 8 months. What do I need to do to start it up again.

I replaced the battery and will change the oil out. What else do I need to do?

Might be overkill but i would change the spark plugs.

Was the car sitting on the tires?

If you're going to change the plugs you may as well squirt some wd-40 into the cylinders through the spark plug holes. I've also heard of disconnecting the main wire to the distributor (to cut out the spark) and cranking the motor just build up oil pressure first, then reconnect the wire & crank the engine normally. That may be overkill though.

^ which reminds me, drain the old fuel thats in it and put fresh gas in.

Or do you not have to put fresh gas in if you add octane booster?
