If it sold at $12k, it would take a $600 fee + listing fee.
Ehhh.
The last 14x,xxx clean / factory S4 sold for 11k at no reserve (It was peasant silver) - I have no idea what Imola would pull on BAT but I think I'll take my chances listing it on the FB Groups first.

Go local first, then if you're not getting the bites you want, BaT or Cars/Bids & bump the price to compensate for the fees.

A7 is gone at 5pm today.
Can't say I won't regret it - car was incredible but the money will be nice and it'll press me a bit harder to get the yellow car done.

List on cars and bids. No listing fee and buyer pays 5% for the sale. Pretty much no cost to you.

BaT is $99 to list with no other fees to the seller.

Or sell it to me for $50. No fees at all.

It is but, I'm looking for one with a good mechanical service history / clean title. Those, especially at that price point, are few and far between.
I can deal with some seat rips / paint that's gone.

Figured I'd drop an update - I test drove probably one of the cheapest running & driving Cayenne turbos in Southern California .. maybe even as far as the surrounding states, too
Right now, I'm in the school of thought of either - getting something solid mechanically / rough around the edges for cheap .. or, finding something turn key for under 10k.
This thing popped up on FB Marketplace and since it's a few miles from one of my office locations, I decided to go into the office and take a look at it.
Right away, I meet with the owner who runs a smaller used car lot - car isn't even on his lot, he's selling it for a friend of his who bought a new Cayenne turbo and wants to get whatever he can get for it.
My car buying senses told me to run away, but I kept asking questions.
Off the bat - battery is dead, pretty apparent lifter tick & valvetrain noise upon startup as the car had been sitting for months prior, few vacuum lines were ghetto rigged, parking brake light won't shut off, AC isn't charged ..
Then .. I drove it (which was my mistake).
It drives really nicely - it was 95F yesterday and I must have killed $15 in gas - took brake boosted launches up to 100mph multiple times .. it didn't care. It's crazy how fast a 5000lb SUV can be.
Once it warmed up and I put miles on it, the valvetrain noise went away. Transmission shifted nicely and through all gears, air suspension works, etc.
I spoke with him after the test drive and told him if he can get it to pass smog .. I will give him $4k for it.
Cliffs:
Stay tuned

Cliffs:
- 2 Owners
- Clean title / no accidents reported
- Lots of service records
- Interior is clean / no rips
- Paint is done but the roof, quarter panels, doors, hatch, etc have no clear rot - hood / bumper are done
- Good brakes
- New tires
- Solid drivetrain
Stay tuned

Other than the rough paint, seems like some minor maintenance & a solid truck?

Cayennes / Porsche in general are not my specialty and there’s a lot that can go wrong here.
Seems the turbo doesn’t suffer from the cylinder scoring issues like the N/A 4.5L V8s, transmissions are solid, and air suspension for the most part is reliable.
This particular example seems like it was cared for mostly throughout its life.
Seems like a lot of little things to address - if the paint is sorted / I give it the ol’ turd shine treatment as I always do, I think I could make it out relatively unscathed.
I messaged the guy this morning and he took it home to put miles on it and will report back if it’ll pass smog by this afternoon or tomorrow.
Trying not to get my hopes up.

You're a masochist mechanically inclined. As long as it "passes" smog, I think it's perfect for you.

Good luck and god speed. That thing looks like it'll either be the best thing you've ever done or financially ruin you for generations to come lol.
I bet the lifter tick is just low or incorrect oil. A quick change will probably resolve that issue. Porsche motors are usually pretty stout.
Does this gen Cayenne suffer from the brittle coolant pipe issue? Pretty sure it does but not positive.

At a $4k price point, I don't think it'll financially ruin me if it's all DIY - a lot of these get parted so part abundance is nice and much more affordable than I thought.

Welp ... I spoke to the seller and we have a time set for pickup .
Little bit of a delay working through the deal - The Cayenne ruptured it's expansion tank earlier in the week so he managed to get a replacement and drive it 75 miles to get all of it's readiness monitors done - after the drive, it had 1 code for the secondary air injection which is a no go for smog.
Hopefully going to use that to further my bargaining .. but, I will be walking away with it today.
Stay tuned.
Current plan is -
With tax time around the corner, wife and I agreed that my budget is $1000 to make this as road worthy as possible ... I should be be able to get away with the secondary air injection pumps, parking brake fix, and maybe some valve cover gaskets for that budget.
Paint will come earlier next year.

For $3800, I can’t complain.
First priority is getting it smogged and fixing the funkyness with the keys /
remotes, otherwise, no issues on the drive back and I’m happy to report that it has no ticking noise, even when cold.
I think I made out like a bandit. A very stupid bandit.

Yeah, you need to replace with OEM tail lights and get rid of those abominations lol.
Also, did you at least ask what was up with the headliner and why they used 200 fasteners to stick it back up?
Sounds like all the expensive stuff will hopefully be ok, just the cosmetic stuff and you'll be ballin' out in your Porsche.

Aftermarket taillights yeah - not a fan at all lmao.
Aesthetics are on the backburner but OEM tails are in the future.
Honestly .. the pins have held really well over time .
Cosmetic stuff comes later .. I also discovered the passenger headlight doesn't work.
Most likely a wiring issue as it's pretty common on the 955 Cayennes.
I took apart the secondary air injection pumps and they're toast .. fins are busted and will need to be replaced.
Sourcing some, plugging them in, and hopefully I can get it to pass smog.

After 2 hours doing plugs on my sister's Edge last weekend in the driveway (with leaves & acorns falling all around), trying to maintain an older VAG product without a garage doesn't sound like fun.

With Fords (and other American cars too), it looks like it was designed by a bunch of monkeys who forgot about certain features part way through the design process and shoehorned it back in in a haphazard fashion making it not possible to service it without swearing and cursing the engineers who designed it.

TBH, it runs fine .. shouldn't make much to get it to pass smog.
Once that's done, I can slowly chip away at it.

In my time with german cars I've found that maintenance items are really well thought out and straightforward OR you have to pull the engine out lol.

Worst case, I can always move the nogaro on the street while it's being worked on but I'd rather not. The other big priority is getting the yellow car out of my garage and sold .

If I need something more, I may have shop access at my dad's, but that's 1.5hrs away.
