The Si Needed an Oil Change...
So I traded it in for this:
08 LGT Spec B, its not the one I was looking at at first, and after driving an STI and this car, I chose the GT.
5500 Miles, Subaru factory demo, about 10k less than MSRP was, paid out the door. CPO so I'm good to 6 years/100k.
Love it so far, I'm really glad I test drove this before offering on an STI.
Excuse the crappy pics, my camera took a steamer on me the day I got it home.
Edit: I'm also taking suggestions for a winter setup from any of those GT owners that run a summer/winter setup.

Yep that's the facelifted one. In a couple of days the dealers here are going to have a 2010 model preview.
Interior pics will follow, but they will be of cell quality until I can find a good deal on a new camera, then full quality pics will be posted.

Nice!
The 2010 isn't a facelift, it's new from the ground up.
For winter I would pick up a set of LGT or WRX 17's and go with some good studless winter tires.

I'll be running Blizzaks, just need to pick a wheel. Damn 5x100 bolt pattern...I can't use anything that I have.

The Review...
So after the first few days of ownership, and a long day behind the wheel today, I bring you my impressions. I'm not going to have a lot of structure here, just a smattering of my thoughts so far. In a month, I'll try and get something with more structure put together.
Acceleration: Jesus Christ. Specs say 5.7 to 60. The butt dyno says no way, its quicker than my G35 coupe was. Maybe its because the turbo motor is not affected by altitude as much as my previous cars, which were all NA. Do these boost to a gauge pressure or an absolute pressure? This is my first turbo car, so I'm going to have to read about that. I love it when some ass hat pulls into an adjacent lane, making a cut across to get out from behind me at a light. This is especially fun when its to a freeway ramp. I've dusted a few diesel pickups with sewer pipe size exhausts already, and some poor sap in a Sentra SE-R Spec V. Not that I am advocating street racing, but a quick pull to freeway speeds, to prove a point when some idiot thinks that I'm some soccer dad driving his wife's car.
Ride/Handling: Good ride/handling tradeoff with this car. Its a bit softer than any other car I've owned, save for the wife's Element. I'd like a little more feedback, but this is aimed at the adult crowd, as an alternative to pre-entry level luxury cars, so I'll accept that tradeoff.
Braking: The Si seemed better here. Pedal feel is a tad soft, again with less feedback than I would like. I have yet to drive a car with brakes that were as communicative as the Brembos on my G35 were.
Powertrain: The turbo spools nice and quick. SI-Drive is pretty cool. It sucks getting caught in I mode, but after using it twice, I don't think I'll use it much again. S#? Its like having a volume dial for the fun factor in the car. S# is 11. Useful when you need to hit a gap while merging, or open some space up when you have a tailgater, or getting around those pesky rolling slalom cones we call minivans. Again, disclaimer here, I don't speed all that often, and I'm almost never above 80, unless the speed limit is 75 or higher. I just don't have much tolerance for people who insist on going 45 on the interstate. Now that I have bought this car, Subaru had better not bring something like the S402 here. That would make me angry, and you wouldn't like me when I'm angry.
Aesthetics: Wow, again. Subaru has come a very long way since my buddies GL in high school and the late 90's/early 2000's Outbacks that a lot of my fellow students drove in college. This car has the nicest interior of any that I have driven since my 02 TL-S. Soft materials that look a lot more expensive than they are, nicely grained dashboard, and I love Alcantara inserts. Two tone stitching doesn't hurt either.
I'm not as impressed with their use of the interior as far as making storage space available. With navi taking up that hole in the top center console, and the tiny armrest, I can pretty much fit my phone and two or three CD's in the car unless I want to go to the trunk. The manual pocket above the glovebox is smart, but it costs a lot of space. I LOVE that they damped the glovebox, so that it doesn't rocket down and destroy your passenger's knees when you open it. Very nice. Very nice indeed. The trunk has a few nice touches though. Plastic shrouds covering the hinges means no more crushed boxes, and it only cost Subaru about $3.00 worth of plastic. Way to look out for your buyer. Good job on backlighting the steering wheel controls too. Excellent.
Subaru should have put HID's on this car though. I know that its not the most expensive car in the lineup, but the flagship sedan should have Xenons, standard. The gauge sweep and lit trim rings on startup are useless, but its pretty damn cool. Subaru would also do well to put a holder for my fuel filler cap on the access door, rather than making me fab my own.
Seats are nice to sit in, I spent 6 hours on the road today, and I feel great. I can't say that about the Si, or my wife's Element.
All in all I'm happy with my purchase right now. I guess the VF40 turbos have some issues and the #4 pot likes to go a la 07+ STI, but I'm not too worried. Used VF40's are cheap, from people who have upgraded their LGT's Maybe when I have some cash, and am out of warranty, I'll take the car to STI spec if I still have it.

Well, I've been busy with school, work and life, so I have not had much time to post the pics I took with my digicam.
Its a moot point now, because the car is not so nice anymore. F#$& old people and their "my foot slipped off the brake" BS.
So I'll take this chance to post up the pics I took, plus those of the accident.
Accident pics are cell phone, the wifey has the camera in Seattle right now.
And now not so nice.
Oh and :Ibthat'llbuffrightout:
I'm going to go nurse my sore neck with some Advil.

I must have a bullseye on my back, too. This is the third car in a row that has been rear ended, while stopped within the first 3 months of my ownership.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Having experienced this myself recently at the hands of a driver with a cell phone in hand, I am sensitive to this sort of violation.

Yeah, I was ready to cry when I saw your thread. I don't know if the damage is worse, or if its worse to have to drive to work in a Kia for a month, while the car gets fixed.
