Parking Sensor replacement

Not sure how many of you have had a parking sensor die but at 103k, had one on my 19 A-Spec die. It was the drivers side sensor closest to the grille.

So OEM sensor was around $100 + shipped from like Bernardi and the likes. I tried to find an aftermarket replacement at the local parts store but ultimately ended up ordering from Amazon, $18 sure beats $100, now I just need to see how long this lasts.

Sensor:

I didn't get pics but it was a pretty easy swap out without taking the bumper off.

I pulled most of the push pins from the belly pan and drivers side fender cover and just rammed my arm in there to reach over to the sensor. The Intercooler end tank is the only main obstacle but easy to snake your arm around it.

Make sure you have new push pins on hand because they ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL will break on you, I have these:

Now after installing the sensor, you will need reset the parking sensor module.
-Ignition ON
- Press parking sensor button 10x in 10 seconds
- Ignition OFF
- Press and keep holding parking sensor button and Ignition ON
- After holding about 10 seconds, should hear beep and button will flash, sensor should be reading and working now

Hope this helps someone out

Interesting, so you were able to obtain about 3+ years of utility from the high dollar OEM sensor?
Would there happen to be any marking indicators on the old OEM sensor that would point to a manufacturer?
Please update your thread if & when this lower dollar aftermarket sensor expires.

I would have ordered an OEM sensor if I needed something else but I hate paying like $20 shipping from Bernardi and the likes.

There are some PNs on it but I didn’t bother to look it up to find out.

i will def update and hope it’s not anytime soon.

Thanks for the picture.

It is interesting that the 'markings' on your faulty OEM sensor look very similar to the one below straight from the mainland:

Interesting for sure! I was going to buy one off Ebay but the add said they could not guarantee if you got a white or black one, WTF! LOL Might have been that picture too.

Wonder if they are just using an OEM sensor for the add pic and send you whatever junk

Not sure, however, the image below is from your Amazon link above and it is similarly marked, except for the TLX part #39680-TZ3-A11, to both the OEM one you pictured in post #4 and the Chinese one I pictured in post #5, lol.
My speculation is the OEM's are procured from China and marked up $$ to reflect the Acura branding on the package?

Having issues with the same parking sensor on my 19. It has some pretty good stone chips on it. Luckily I found this post and went ahead and ordered the pad from Amazon. Thanks for posting this!
