Any ideas on how to get it out? One of my friends accidentally did this when we were packing up to go home from a trip. It actually faded a little bit after I went over it with a razor blade and some polish by hand. It catches my fingernail, but I can't tell for sure if its an external scratch or one that's embedded in the glass.

You might want to try contacting an auto glass place and ask them if it's possible to fix a scratch like that. I always assumed that there really isn't much you can do once glass is scratched other than replacing the glass.
