Saw a new Merc CLS!

Saw it the other day parked at the MB dealership across from my office. Turned around and pulled in for a look. This car is gorgeous, me wants!!! Let's see, I'll trade the Z and the 3 for it, that'll work!

I saw one at the Houston Auto Show and it is truly breathtaking in person. IMO its the best looking 4 door car on the planet.

I haven't see one on the road yet, but the COO here at work got a new black M3 (lease was up on the old red one)... It looks like midnight blue in the right light...

You know what that leads to, don't you ??

You snap some pics, a salesman asks if you want a test drive, and before you know it ....

I don't think the 55 has been released yet. Everything I have read has said at least mid-to-late February. But regardless....they are both awesome looking.

I know they arent out yet, thats why the dealer had it tucked away in the huge service lot. it clearly stated CLS-55 and was with huge wheels and quad exhaust tips and it was lower to the ground than the CLS500

considering the dealer had a SLR and two Maybachs they prolly get dibs on the nicest cars before the smaller dealers

Well to say I'm shocked would be an understatement. I've been wanting to see one for awhile and Mercedes has said a few times that shipment wasnt supposed to begin until mid Feb. I'll give you props though on seeing it....do you know what color it was? The red looks like it is going to be a headturner.

My uncle (who lives in Germany) has had his CLS for a while now. Such a hot car, hopefully I'll get to drive the beast when I go over this year.

Spotted a CLS55 AMG in Millbury, MA heading onto the Mass Pike!! My jaw DROPPED! WOW what a great looking car... Also stood out because it was the cleanest-looking black car in the whole of the North East! Not a speck of salt on it...

Definitely on my list of wants! Nudged it up after seeing it in person... <droooool>

Will the CLS offer 5 seats? Or will it strictly be 2 seats in the back only?

I think it's strictly a 4 seater. Saw these pics at mbworld.org:

I finally saw one in front my local Starbucks this past Saturday.....it's probably the UGLIEST MB I've ever seen. Outside of Porsche, it seems that the styling of most German cars are pretty 'discouraging' IMHO.

I'd rather have the 2 in back personally, 5's a crowd and personally, I'd rather it just be me in the car anyways!!!!!!!!

We went to the dealer last weekend to check out their SLR...the CLS was there as well.

Its ok, the back is just not my cup of tea......I'm sure the 55 will look tough but wouldn't drop $90k on it.

The interior is really small, especially the back seats.

Was with two friends, they didn't like it at all.

I spent about 15-20 minutes fucking around inside one. half that time was in the back. Im pretty sure I saw 3. They all flip down when not in use so they dont impair the drivers rear view. I could be wrong...but thats what I remember.

Nope, just two headrests. Also, there is no middle seat as there is sort of a center console back there.

Nah, there's just two headrest on the CLS perhaps you're confusing it with the E-class? Anyways here's the best pic I could find of the rear seat:

Oh shit thats right, it has that awesome center divider/storage space...then even more storage in the flip down armrest.

There is no way to confuse an E class with the CLS. Unless youre retarded and blind.

That said, I'd take the current E55/E500 over that CLS ANYDAY.
