Saw new Audi Coupe today
Saw new Audi Coupe today
CONVERTIBLE I mean. I saw a new Audi A4 2 door convertible, was very nice. Only one on the lot so I assume they're just coming out? It has cues from both the A4 and the TT IMO. Didn't see a price, I'd like to see a coupe version. Tons of Audis on the lot, both new and used. They had at least 2-3 times as many cars as the Acura dealer here.

btw your title was misleading.... I was thinking "TT, wow good for u!
" and then i was thinking "ah the Nuvolari, such a hot coupe....wait i didn't see it at the NY auto show."
yes - was supposed to be coming out towards the end of this year as an '04 model and is based on the cabrio that is currently on the market - meaning another A4 platform - but no official word yet as it may not come out until the '05 model year.

There is no Audi Coupe save the TT. I don't understand your reply. If you're saying that Audi has backed off on their plans to introduce an A4 coupe, this is news, but everybody - including Edmonds - still refers to a 2dr version of the A4 being introduced in the not too distant future.
Sorry, but Audi has no intention of introducing the 2 door hatch to this country ... we will be receiving the 5dr (four doors and the rear hatch) only, as currently reported by Audi.

The A3 is the 2 door hatch style of the A4 which will be here soon.

"Rumors have been circulating for some time about the A3/S3 coming to America and while Audi of America is officially only saying that they are investigating the potential for the A3 in America, some very reliable sources have hinted at a more probable scenario. Apparently the A3 will be coming sometime in 2004 and and will only be sold as a 4-door model. Our sources inside Audi suggest the North American A3 will be a "sport brake" motif that is a blend of hatchback and wagon elements. This could be bad news for any potential of an S3 model being offered here as the current generation S3 is only available in a 2-door configuration. We'll have to wait and see if Audi introduces both a 2-door and 4-door S3 model this time around. Expect pricing of the U.S. A3 to start just above $25,000 in the U.S."
I also searched Audiworld.com for anything pertaining to the demise of the much rumoured A4 Coupe, and found nothing which pointed to any letter from anyone/body/thing in a position of authority. If you can lead me to this document, I'd appreciate seeing it. The latest thing I saw was dated just 11 days ago, and can be found here:

and god knows that just because some car salesman or manufacturer rep says something is/isn't true, we all know how gospel that is, don't we? Can't begin to tell you how many Audi Salespeople have told me that there is no way in hell that I ever owned an '86 Coupe Quattro. Makes me wonder what it was I was driving for those 4 years
Lets not turn this into a pissing contest ... I'm just looking for some reliable, factual information about the demise of the coupe as you mention. your assistance/knowledge/expertise greatly appreciated.and yes AcuraFan, I know that the gold Coupe is a photoshop from their early pictures of the cabrio. assume the silver one is also. There was also an earlier thought about bringing out a "4-dr Coupe" which had rear suicide doors, but that design was abondoned.
I was pretty sure that I read that there was going to be an A4 coupe based on the convertible too, not sure which magazine it was in because I get them all (and it seems like they all arive on the same damn day). I sure hope they make one, it would be one great coupe. I hope they haven't changed their minds.
Since you really searched hard for it. Took me less than 30 secs with the search. And if you read the link and the replies, everyone already knows its not coming since its been discussed many many times.
Like I said, no coupe in the near future.

"There are no plans to offer an A4 Coupe in the North American market at this time. " I saw that thread b4 my last post, and also noted the other comments as to what "at this time" could mean.
I would have thought you would have based your position on something a little bit more concrete than "Kelly", who probably looked at the current brochure before posting her response. Anyway, it's not worth debating this with you, cuz "Kelly" has spoken. Oh, and nice the way you completely ignored the paragraph and written words from your source on the A3. have a nice day!

You bet I ignored the A3. Because just like the other issue, you are making it a big issue. As of right now you are cluess to what Audi has or will be having. Audiworld has a strong connection with Audi. They know whats going to come and not. I trust them more than any magazine.
I knew I read it recently . May 2003 Motor Trend in the "news" section...
"Audi will unveil it's A4 two-door coupe at the Frankfurt motor show this September, with plans to release it here as an '04 model. The car's body is basically a hardtop version of the A4 cabrio, which has much more unique sheetmetal compared with the A4 sedan. Audi did have a 4 door coupe on the boards at one time, but scrubbed those plans. A potential S4 version would be a direct competitor for the BMW M3"
