TIL, they still make the ILX...
I leave mine on too. The engineering that went into the stop start systems is pretty heavy and I'm sure the reliability was tested out to several expected lifetimes. The people who are saying it kills the starter are probably the people still changing synthetic oil after 3k miles.
That said, I have a 6 year warranty and I'll be getting rid of the car shortly before that expires.

I keep mine on too, auto-disables in Sport+ or Manual modes.
It works much better than the auto-stop in the F150. IIRC, the Mercedes has an aux battery/capacitor for the auto-stop, instead of relying on the main battery.

in my F150 it lowers the AC at a stop light...uh...it's Florida. suck on my dix.
in the Volvo I didn't like that it would take a second to kick back on...a lot of times it's when you're waiting for an opening in traffic to GO and that lag to turn back on could kill you. I could just stop living on the edge but where's the fun in that?
I do about 5 to 7K on synthetic unless it's been a LONG time or the oil looks black...
prick!

The stop start systems have been rapidly improving. The one in my old Jeep was super dopey and clunky, the one in the VW is much more refined. The Subie doesn't even have it lol.

I fucking hate auto stop/start!
Okay, sorry, I was politely trying to get that point across.
Fine...maybe if my next car has it...I'll leave it enabled. Work pays for the F150 gas soooo...
I'll check the Yukon but I'm not sure if it has that feature.

I see his graduated cylinders, but I also see my fuel consumption numbers on the dashboard in my much-newer-than-his-information vehicle.
I find it very unobtrusive.

I never use mine either... my 13 335 had it on by default and it did not remember the last setting. I actually brought the car to the dealer and told them to disable it permanently. To my surprise, they did it without even asking why. Apparently so many people hated it.
I need that 0.03 sec jump start at the red light...

Hey @rockstar143 - if you get a manual you won't have to worry about auto start-stop

My rule was a LOT more firm on my black cars.
On the Volcano Red and Rio Yellow you can't really see swirling.
I also like to observe whether or not the guy drops the mit on the
ground and keeps going on other people's cars.
Soooo excited for these...this week I have been driving exclusively in
manual mode and I can say that the car is very manual like in that it
does make you feel like you're in control in addition to having the sounds
and fast and crisp shifts. I drove the S2000 yesterday and DO love a
real manual but I'm thoroughly enjoying. Got these last night and installed
this morning. 2 allen bolts...so not really a challenge but after my first
test drive with them I'm super happy. I almost went red but it was too much
and the silver ones don't match the interior's brushed silver so I went black
for a more subtle approach. Love it.
The fake metal topping on the oem paddles was lifting off...on the "+" I already
had to cut off some that would catch my finger and lift and touch it up so I figured
since I'm using manual more and would eventually make them worse I might as
well do these to protect them and add functionality. I realized recently that the flat
bottom steering wheel is not only for looks and feel but also to give you a frame
of reference for which side up the steering wheel is when you're grabbing for the
paddle.
Also, when I say this car is fucking clean...it really is. I am in absolute awe of the color and love how well it all cleans up.
I have literally only seen Volcano red in person on 2 different cars and NONE of them were S4. 1 SQ5 and one A4. That's it.
"Oh shit girl, I love this song...it is my JAMBBBB!!!!!!!!!!!"
Dad Jokes 1000000.

Went to a kids bday party at a buddy’s house. He bought a black B8.5 S4 since I last saw him. He said something about a stage 2 tune, and something else about 550 hp.
