I was reading the article from world news honda about the new RL or Legend in Japan. The Japanese version gets Night Vision.

"World's first Intelligent Night Vision System* detects pedestrians and provides driver cautions

· The Intelligent Night Vision System uses images obtained from two far infrared cameras positioned in the lower section of the front bumper to detect the position and movement of infrared heat-emitting objects and determine whether they are in or approaching the vehicle’s path. Based on size and shape, the system also determines if the detected object is a pedestrian. In addition to the conventional night vision function of giving the driver an enhanced view of the road ahead by displaying pedestrians on the heads-up display, the system is the world’s first to provide visual and audio cautions that inform the driver of the presence of pedestrians that are on the road or about to cross the vehicle’s path."

Now all we need is some front mounted machine guns and a few rockets and this baby is ready to go to combat.

The US has been looking at this for a while, Caddy was trying to get it to work with a HUD (Head's up display) that would super-impose the image infront of the driver on the windshield ... It'll be pretty slick when these things become standard.

Cadillac already has this option on the DTS...no? I've seen it reviewed like 2 years ago.

Yea, the Deville DTS has had it as an option since 2000. The Lexus LX470 also has the night vision option.

JDM Legend (RL) has more features than US RL... when JDM Honda revealed their 05 Legend weeks ago.

seniors or elderly = 10 points
young man = 20 points
young woman = 40 points
kids = 50 (they run faster)

You can have the car keep score, and transmit the info to all dealers via XM Acura-Link, if you score high, you get free service at your local dealer!
